Joey is a delightfully simple app for tracking newborn feeds and diaper changes designed and developed by a dad of two. Entering feeds and changes is as easy as a single tap. No subscription fees, no ads, and your data is completely private.

I've seen this shared on socials for a little while now, excited to see it out in the wild Adam. Great job on getting it out, good luck with the launch

Tried it and it’s super nicely designed and the UX is top notch. Delightful details with sounds and transitions. Our kids are too old, but could easily see this as very useful for new parents. Great work Adam!

@daniel_feldt Thanks so much for giving it a go, Daniel!

Hey folks 👋 I want to introduce Joey, a delightfully simple app for tracking newborn feeds and diaper changes. Joey is free, has no ads and your data is completely private (everything is stored on your device and backed up to your iCloud account). There are Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets too so you can easily see what the last feed was and when it happened. I built Joey because I wasn’t happy with the other offerings on the App Store. They either had expensive subscription models, required access to private information, or offered too many features (making us feel anxious when we weren’t tracking every minor detail). Joey’s feature set is intentionally simple. It’s a single-screen app that shows you a timeline of entries with the controls to add a new entry. You can add notes to individual entries, or add a quick note for anything else (I logged the first time I slept 8hrs again). There are no timers, no push notifications, and no graphs. I’m a product designer by trade, so I’ve really tried my best to make Joey fun to use. You’ll find cute sounds, delightful haptics (both of which can be turned off if that’s not your jam), and customization options for both the app icon and Home Screen widget. I sincerely hope you enjoy Joey, it was a blast to make. Adam

@adamwhitcroft great work! Loved seeing the little update you pushed shortly after launch designed to accommodate those who aren’t able to breastfeed - offering a setting to hide the left and right breast options throughout the app. Very considerate!

@smutchings Thanks Sam!

Great work on this Adam! As a father of 2 I know how important it is to keep track of all this and how much you kind of need a replacement for opening up Apple notes and remembering to type it all up. Love all the little touches you added too. Can’t believe this was your very first app.

@rcclerigo <3 Thanks Ricardo.

I must share this with my friends who just had a baby! Very refreshing to see people tackling this topic! Keep it up 💪

@jakub_kuba1 Thanks Jakub, let me know what they think of it or what feedback they have!

Been following this project on twitter since I was expecting a newborn. Now that its released it saves so much trouble for me and wife with tracking our child activities. Great work and thank you!

@damaja Thanks Serhii!

Love the app and idea. I commented on Twitter but i figured id say it here as well, i think a collaboration mode would be amazing if added to this so that both parents have record of when the other changed or fed the baby. Similar to sharing a note on iOS. Both can see it and both can contribute to it.
Adam Whitcroft
@montez_french1 Hey Montez! Unfortunately that was a little too complicated for me to get into v1, I'll keep working on it though as I agree it'd be super useful!
