Jira Work Management is a new friendly and intuitive way for business teams to access the power of Jira with new functionality built for modern styles of collaboration.
Hi everyone,
I’m Ron and I’m the Founding PM of Jira Work Management at Atlassian. We’re thrilled today to be announcing a new home for business teams on Jira.
Jira Work Management enables teams like marketing, HR, finance, design, and more to connect with their technical counterparts and work together seamlessly.
Why did we build this product? Well, we as the founding team feel very passionate about this after talking to so many customers. We heard you saying that while your Engineering teams are already on Jira today, you’d like get all your teams on Jira so that all teams can work closer together. We also heard you tell us that in order to do this, Jira has to be become more approachable and answer ways of working that suit business teams and not just software teams.
Over the past months, our team worked really hard to bring to you an entirely new Jira experience. Our own teams in marketing, finance, HR, operations, legal and many more teams have been using our product, contributing feedback on a daily basis, and are now really happy customers, and we couldn’t be more proud of that.
So what’s new? There are five new ways to get work from “to-do” to “done” in Jira Work Management. All built with business teams in mind:
List - extends the intuitive experience of a spreadsheet to Jira, incorporating in-line editing for blazing-fast performance and results. It’s a beautiful and effective new way to manage work at any scale, from individual workloads to large cross-company projects.
Calendar - adds the context of time to your work in a way that’s clearly visible and universally understood. Now, companies can view deadlines and update work in an easy-to-comprehend format for quicker, more efficient planning.
Timeline - is a fine-tuning of the traditional Gantt chart, designed to highlight connections and dependencies across workstreams. We’ve also added data, such as assignee and status, to the bars themselves so teams can gather the full picture of their projects instantly.
Board - displays work tasks in the logical progression of the workflow they belong to, giving you a flexible way of viewing, managing, and reporting on work in progress. Teams can design custom workflows and watch work move from “To do” to “Done”.
Forms - make coordinating projects with cross-team requirements a breeze. Create drag-and-drop forms within seconds to collect requests and consolidate work related to projects, reducing friction and team disconnects.
We’d love to hear your feedback and please try it out entirely FREE through the link above.
Thanks!
Ron, Chase, Jerome, James and the team!
Is Jira Work Management the same as Jira Software? Like can an existing software team use Jira Software and have the business team use Jira Work Management?
@naseem_raad yes! That's exactly the goal. Plus, those teams can share items, workflows, issue types, etc and remain in different experiences while still being on the same platform
