Over the years since first launching iubenda, while on our journey to over 60,000 customers trusting us with their compliance, the single most requested addition has been a generator for Terms and Conditions. We of course were pretty eager to jump right in, but we soon realized that the solution for addressing the complex and varied requirements of Terms and Conditions would have to be done carefully and exceptionally, or not be done at all.
The challenge was to create something that would handle the extreme legal complexity, particularly on ramification of options (e.g. you sell online → you sell services → the services are offered through a subscription → the subscription renews automatically), while keeping an interface that’s simple to use.
And so, while we continued to develop and expand our other solutions, behind the scenes we worked painstakingly hard — researching, developing and iterating what would be our Terms and Conditions Generator.

We've been teasing and wanting to release this product for years and years and finally it's out :)
@facens has given you all the details, let me give you the 3 features I'm most proud of with this release (and yes we have big plans for subsequent releases!):
🛍 just like our privacy policy generator has third-party integrations, the terms have them, too. To describe your purchasing process as meticulously as possible you can choose from Shopify to Webflow Ecommerce to Stripe as checkout options;
⚠️ we have a section at the top of the document that can display warnings about certain sections, such as a subscription that autorenews;
🏗 construct your own: we have sections such as the acceptable use section that you can construct, depending on what you actually do on your application;
We have dedicated sections for mobile apps, for user generated content, for user registration and much more. I would love to hear your thoughts and as with the privacy policy, this is a living product and we're going to be working on it, adding to it, for a long long time.

Do find it annoying that after spending 10 minutes setting things up, turns out I gotta pay before I can actually use it. I know it's "effective" to get people in etc, but it's not cool imo.
@kaolti Hi Zsolt, fair enough, thanks for the feedback. Getting past the fact that you would have preferred to be warned about it being paid, what's your opinion on the pricing?
@facens Looks complicated and expensive - but it also feels like I'm not really the target audience. I just want a quick terms & conditions and privacy policy generated and don't see myself using it again in the near future.

How does it better than free AvoDocs (https://www.avodocs.com)? They also generate these legal document for free. And also have deferent options for different companies.
@roman_sevastyanov Hi Roman, our generator is *a lot* more powerful and specific, the number of customization options is 10 to 1. Instead of trying to provide dozens of legal documents, we only focus on compliance for online companies and on that we excel. Give it a try and let us know if you see the value : )
@roman_sevastyanov Tbh, I feel like trying to compare the two is like comparing apples and oranges as iubenda isn’t really a “template solution”. Avo gives you a few basic customization options in the starter questionnaire then emails you a doc. In order to update you have to read through and edit the document manually then re-upload to your site. iubenda’s solution comes with automated legislation monitoring and is hosted so that edits are just made to relevant sections within the dashboard and it populates instantly. Plus iubenda’s T&C lets you customize to an INSANE degree. While I’m sure Avo is a pretty good template tool, I can say with certainty that iubenda’s solution here is more powerful and precise specifically because it's NOT a template tool (plus the legal part is actually drafted by lawyers). Btw full disclosure, I work at iubenda :D
Super cool idea - do you guys see this being used to make it easier for lawyers to do their work or do you see non-lawyers taking this up? I feel like even after using a tool like this, you should still send for legal review right?
@aydin_mirzaee If you have the little extra budget, having a lawyer review the configuration made in iubenda and help you tweak it is the best use you can make of our service. Many of our customers, particularly the largest ones, do it!

@facens yep, working on a new product and soon will need to pull out some T&Cs. Already did that personally for https://b2b.lama-app.com/ and it was a nightmare.

I would also like to have an ability to purchase an eternal license for the generated document, rather than eternally paying for one same document on monthly basis.
It makes me think about long term plan - where
1) I purchase pro license, create docs and embed it now!
2) dream about the moment when can I stop using it
3) copy & rewrite & rework document myself or with hired lawyers
4) quit!!!
So my question is - how would you motivate users to stay in long term?

What if the user stops paying for iubenda and manually copies resulting policies to their website. Are you going to sue them for copyright violation?
@evgeniy_chernyshov It's a violation and yes, we must pursue it. Fortunately, the vast majority of users understand the value we generate for them, and this happens very rarely.
