iPad mini features a thin, light, and portable design that makes it the perfect on-the-go companion. At less than a pound and 6.1 mm thin, itโs easy to carry with you in one hand or take out of a pocket or bag whenever inspiration strikes.
This is the first time Apple's launched a product via a tweet.
Does that mean product refreshes have become so banal as to not even warrant 280 characters anymore, let alone a Steve Jobs Theater presentation?
Two ranges of iPad: standard and pro; 2 models each makes sense, hence I think the Air and the regular iPad are canibalizing each other in terms of offering.
The iPad mini on the other hand, I've been expecting the pencil support and it becomes the perfectly size notes/scribble tablet. The correct cameras and the A12 chip make it (a bit) future proof (5 years at least) and it starts at 64gb so that's nice.
The only weird part IMHO, the pricing: starting price is steep. The 170โฌ (sorry, Europe here) for LTE is a big ompf too.
My 2 cents.
i don't mind the way they announced the new models. better than having to wait around a year for the next big event bs to release new updates. now if apple could just do the same for the next new model mbp models with upgraded guts, that would make everyone happy.. lets say 3-6 monthly quiet updates. this would be ideal yeah!
