I built Queatis to help parents save time and raise healthier kids

Hey everyone! đź‘‹

I'm Julia, a founder with a background in economics (PhD), over 10 years in fintech and IT, and a deep belief that technology can make everyday life a little easier — especially for families.

A few years ago, I moved to Argentina with my daughter, and like many working parents, I found myself caught between too many responsibilities and too little time — especially when it came to something as simple and important as school lunches.

That's how Queatis started.

It's a free app that helps parents plan healthy lunchbox menus for their kids based on allergies, preferences, and variety — complete with clear instructions and recipes developed by a certified child nutritionist.

The name Queatis comes from a blend of three words — quickly eat list — and, as a small linguistic twist, echoes the word from Latin — "queatis", which can be interpreted as "you can do it."
That part really resonates with me.

Right now, we're still early — about 200 users — but the feedback has been incredibly valuable. Parents say it helps reduce daily stress, especially when dealing with picky eaters or food sensitivities. And for now — it's completely free.

In the coming months, I’d love to keep improving Queatis — make it smarter, more visual, more helpful — and eventually partner with services that care about healthy family habits too.

If you're a parent, or simply someone who cares about kids’ health, I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if you’ve ever struggled with visibility, launching something personal, or balancing big dreams with small steps — I’m with you.

Thanks for reading, and if you check out Queatis on Product Hunt, I’d love your feedback. 🩵

Hi Julia and welcome!

Such a nice mission - does Queatis also take into account location where a user is based to help tailor meals for what is available at local grocers?

Julia Kim

@gabe Hi, and thank you! ) That’s definitely something we plan to do.
We’re exploring the idea of integrating with grocery store APIs - it could help families save both time and money by suggesting the best-value ingredients for each week’s lunchbox menu.

We’re taking it step by step, and the next big milestone is generating smart grocery lists based on selected meals.

Launching soon!

What a lovely and much-needed idea, Julia! Like many, I know the morning rush all too well, and something like Queatis can really make a difference. I love the focus on health, variety, and most of all—making life easier for families. Wishing you lots of success with the project! 💙

@c5vargas Thank you so much — that means a lot! đź’™
Yes, the morning chaos is so real, and if Queatis can make even a small part of that routine easier (and healthier!), I’ll feel like it’s doing its job. Really appreciate the kind words and support.

We’re also thinking ahead about regional adaptation — every country has its own food culture, product availability, and even allergy profiles.
It’s fascinating (and complex!) how the same ingredient can cause very different reactions depending on where a child grows up.

We’d love to eventually tailor menus to reflect these local differences, and also help families make smarter grocery choices — both in terms of time and budget.
Forming weekly shopping lists that support convenient and conscious consumption is one of the directions we’re exploring.

Further down the line, we also hope to support families with neurodiverse children and those with specific developmental needs — but we know that will take time, research, and the right partners.

Step by step, we’re building toward something that goes beyond lunch planning — toward real support for everyday family life 🩵
