Anthropic's Claude 4 models, Opus 4 & Sonnet 4, set new AI benchmarks in coding, reasoning & agents. Both feature extended thinking with tool use & improved memory.
Claude 4 is here!! Anthropic's next generation of models, including the powerful Claude Opus 4 and an upgraded Claude Sonnet 4, has arrived. They're aiming high with this release, especially for coding, advanced reasoning, and building more capable AI agents.
A key new feature for both is "extended thinking with tool use." This allows them to use tools like web search while working on complex problems, which is a big step for more capable agent-like tasks. They've also got improved memory and follow instructions more precisely.
Alongside the new models, Claude Code is now generally available. It brings Claude's help right into your dev workflow with VS Code, JetBrains, and GitHub integrations. You can try Sonnet 4 for free, with Opus 4 on paid plans and various APIs.
@zaczuo Really exciting to see AI models evolving with extended tool use—this feels like a meaningful step toward smarter, more context-aware agents. Can’t wait to test how these upgrades improve real-world coding and problem-solving workflows!
I'm really excited to start using Claude 4. I've heard it's incredibly powerful for coding and solving complex problems. I'm hoping it will help me speed up my workflow and live up to the hype!
Been waiting to see what Anthropic would come up with next — and Claude 4 looks super impressive! Love how it’s focused on better reasoning and handling longer conversations. Can’t wait to test it out properly. Congrats to the team on this solid launch!
Claude 4 sounds like a major leap forward! I’m also excited to see Claude Code integrated into developer workflows with VS Code, JetBrains, and GitHub - that’s going to be a real productivity booster for teams. How does Claude handle context-switching between tasks or different tools in a session?
Congratulations on the launch of Claude 4! 🎉 The "extended thinking with tool use" feature sounds like a game-changer for tackling complex tasks. It's exciting to see innovations that enhance precision and flexibility. Can't wait to integrate this into my workflow! 👏🚀
I've been a die hard fan from the first beta until 3.5 - but now if you aren't a coder and just a normal end-user, Claude has fallen behind. The context window of 200k is not enough for my own book and a few other background documents to do great writing. It's a shame, but I have to use GPT 4.1 simply because of their 1000k context window. Claude is focusing solely on coders as main audience, which is not only a letdown but missing the other 98% of people. This decision is a huge fail.

Hi there! Quick question here : How does Claude 4’s improved tool use and integrations (e.g., MCP) support web and mobile development workflows, particularly for connecting to project management tools like Jira or Trello? Any real-world examples of agencies using it for this?

Excited! Have been looking forward to it.
Just tried it out with Claude Code and Sonnet 4 for Swift Development – This is just insane. Clean code and proper context awareness.
