Conversion Tracking allows advertisers to see if a Google AdWords ad led to the desired action, such as signing up for an email list or purchasing a product. It also provides data about which ads are clicked on, where the clicks happened.

Setting up your Google Analytics for conversion tracking takes about five minutes with the help of this tutorial. 1) Log into your Analytics account 2) Click on Admin (upper right-hand corner), then select View Settings 3) Select Conversions from the list 4) Click Go to Conversions Setup 5) Enable Conversion Tracking 6) Select a Goal Conversion 7) Enter a Goal Value 8) Save Changes 9) Congratulations! You now have conversion tracking enabled in your analytics account. Make sure that all links to the page or form you want to be tracked are tagged with utm_conversion, utm_medium, and utm_campaign so that google knows where they came from. Use both utm_conversion and utm_medium as these two fields work together to let google know which conversion goal you’re using. The campaign part can be any campaign name that makes sense for your business- just make sure it’s unique enough so there are no overlaps between campaigns.
