CE.SDK is a fully customizable design editor, empowering template-based workflows and automation with just a few lines of code. The editor combines the best of layout, photo editing, and typography and can easily be adapted to any use case.
@sippndipp We provide bindings for all major frameworks including React and provide example code and guides for it. Just checkout our developer guides at https://img.ly/docs/cesdk/web/ge...
Hey Hunters,
Thanks, @__tosh for hunting CreativeEditor SDK.
It’s been a while since our first product, PhotoEditor SDK, was hunted here. Since then, IMG.LY has grown from just a few people to a team of over 40, empowering over 1000+ customers with our SDKs!
We gained unique insights into creative tools and workflows across industries and use cases and realised they all have much in common. We realised that we want to provide the building blocks to bring creativity to all corners of the internet :).
So we went back to the drawing board and started building an entirely new engine from the ground up. Today we released the product build on this engine: Meet CE.SDK!
CE.SDK is a fully customisable design editor, empowering template-based workflows and automation: Whether you want users to build a story from within your app, add easily customisable print products, or equip stakeholders across your company with design. CE.SDK makes this all possible with just a few lines of code.
We appreciate any feedback on our new SDK (check out the demo on our website). Please stay tuned: there are many exciting features on our roadmap!
Thank you for the support!
After going to your questions, here is some additional information around our new product.
The editor is built from the ground up to empower your app or website with a fully customizable creative editor.
It is a creative engine that lets developers build and integrate their own version of this editor into your app.
You can customize it to your needs and embed the full editor inside your app's workflows without your users ever leaving your app or realizing that it's a third-party component.
Check out the "Customize Editor" option on our landing-page or our developer documentation to get a glimpse of what is possible.
@manuelkoelman You can do both. Either build them from scratch inside the editor itself and use our template constraints to define what template users should be able to modify later. Or, use one of our predefined templates. We are currently in the process of extending the templates and more and more will become available. For a quick look at a few examples take a look at the example integration of the editor on the landing page https://img.ly/docs/cesdk/. In the next weeks, we will showcase and provide a lot more examples of templates.
@othylmann It's fully on-premise running in the browser and all assets, images, and data are under your control. Besides the web/browser-based version we will provide server solutions for automation, but also mobile versions of the SDKs. Note, that the SDK is built to seamlessly integrate into your apps and can be customized heavily, in terms of look & feel.
@toshiyori@cem_selcuk Our goal is to have solution that can serve any creative workflow. That said, we understand that animation and video support are essential to some use cases. We already have some ideas how this will work in our editor / SDK. Expect this to be rolled out early next year!
Been looking forward to see UBQ in action, everything is extremely smooth! Well done! One question though: the WASM binary is pretty heavy with 13mb in size. Are you planning on splitting functionalities into multiple binaries?
@sascha_gehlich Thanks for the feedback. 13 MB in size seems much, but fortunately all modern browser use gzip or brotli to deliver the assets and the WASM file compressed very well down to round about 2.3 MB which is comparable to some high resolution images. But, to answer your question we are planning to split the WASM file into multiple chunks in the future and introduce an extension system in the next month.
@till_ohrmann Hi Till, we're doing a value base pricing, looking into the use case and the value our SDK generates. Based on the insights, we're suggesting different licensing options, with the goal to have a win win situation :) We will definitely introduce a smalll business pricing plan, like for our other SDKs to provide a fixed pricing for small companies / startups. Hope this helps!
This looks incredible! Congrats on the launch.
I'm not a developer (so I might ask something stupid) but can the editor be used to export html/css? and basically be a website builder?
Thanks @lucandrei! The editor is mainly focussed on generating print or web ready output such as png, jpeg and soon PDF and SVG files. HTML/CSS will eventually be possible but just to export web advertisements and not full webpages.
@danielhauschil1 I understand. Would it be possible for someone to use your SDK and build the "full webpage export" feature? I guess I'm asking if devs can use your UI and logic to build on top of it.
@lucandrei In general, we also have an api that can be used go through the document and get its properties. So, one could build an exporter on top of that and generate html/css own your own.
hello there, looking for a sdk for background enhancements and discrete face filters like eyewere, does https://img.ly/video-sdk help me ? i have not seen background real time like banuba
This looks like a really awesome tool. As a marketing professional who ordered branded items from promotional vendors, I hope this catches on fast. It looks so much better than some of the clunky tools that are out there now.
I was looking for a solution my marketing team can use to work with agencies and designers. As far as I understand your product is suited for this type of collaboration? Will you support SVG, or PSD imports?
@niklas1 This is definitely something we'd like to provide. We understand that many designers still want to use their adobe products, so we will provide imports for the most popular file formats. At the same time our authoring environment will become even more powerful over the next few months: I'm sure that this will attract professional designers to work entirely on our platform.
@alanlee Just get started with one of our codesandbox examples from the docs. Also it's easily installable and testable without any license or other quirks.
