ImageMate uses AI to automatically rename, tag, and describe your images. Organize thousands of photos in seconds with customizable instructions and instant metadata CSV export. Simple, fast, and safe.
👋 Hey Product Hunt!
I built ImageMate because I needed a fast way to name, describe, and tag thousands of images — without doing it all manually. I looked into existing tools, but most were either missing key features or were complex DAM systems with mandatory uploads and heavy setups.
🔍 What makes ImageMate different?
- Works directly with folders on your computer
- No need to upload full images (just small previews)
- Fully customizable AI — define your own naming and description rules
- Adds metadata to JPEG, PNG, and TIFF files + exports a clean CSV
- Processes entire folders in seconds
- Keeps your originals safe — only metadata is enriched
I’d love to hear your feedback, ideas, or use cases. Happy to answer any questions! 😊
This could be a lifesaver for organizing event photo libraries! My thousands of photos on my iPhone need to be organized, hope that one day ImageMate would support iOS.
ImageMate saved me hours of manual work—just dropped in my photo folder and it instantly renamed and tagged everything with surprising accuracy. The custom instructions and quick CSV export make it super easy to stay organized.
As someone with a massive, messy photo library, the ability to auto-name and tag images right in my folders (without endless uploads) is a total lifesaver. I love that I can set my own rules for naming—finally, no more cryptic filenames!
Would there be a way to have it scan and rename photos in Photo Library on Mac? I love the idea of it working to rename files, Arc does this when I download individual files.

Would be interesting to see the NLP model behind the auto-description feature - is it generating alt-text compliant metadata?
