Moose Photos - Professionally made free stock photos matching each other

by
Top Hunter

Getting cheap professional photos is a challenge, let alone free. Matching them is even harder. Moose is a photo stock under professional production. All the images are free for a link. Variety of themes, high-quality photos perfectly matching each other. You can even order a needed shot.

Big thanks to @chrismessina for hunting Moose. So, we’re launching the new stock photography service by the Icons8 team. It’s called Moose. What makes it different from the others? - We’re a movie-scale crew of the directors, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, prop designers, an architect, a 3D modeller, a post-production team, and two collage artists. - And we’re a tech startup with AI- and web developers that combines these images with various backgrounds and 3D-rendered scenes. - And we give our photos away for free. Share what you think, guys, your feedback will help us to improve.

As an avid blogger, I'm a huge fan of photo stocks and Moose it definitely worth to be added to top favs. What I especially like in it is its elegant minimalism and the ability to match photos together not breaking the general visual style. It's cool for keeping a consistent content strategy within one article, webpage or even website.

What I would be happy to get as a user is the ability to make my own collections of favorite photos or images on particular theme and share them with other bloggers via social networks and email.

Thanks a lot for sharing such great stuff, huge congrats to the team on release!

Pros:

High-quality photos. Free. Nice minimalist style. Variety of plots and model types.

Cons:

Haven't found.

Stop it :) Seriously, thanks.

Hey @valeriya_khristinina, @pavel_malay and @kirill_kazachek, Who are the main type of clients you have been working with, and what is next up for the company?
Ivan Braun
@jacqvon Thanks for your question. As for the clients, Moose has never been a project based on client-performer relations. It was started as one of the side projects by the Icons8 team to fill in the gap in stock photography for users who need professionally made kinfolk-style photos but have no big budget it demands. Being designers, we know that pain of spending ages to find and match needed photos. So, we gathered a team of professionals, invested money earned from icons and in about a year of shooting, retouching, and designing are ready to share the results with all who need that. What is next? Now we are enlarging the collection of Moose Photos, adding new themes and characters, hold testing to see what users need most from the service and develop the deep integration of AI and 3D rendering to the process. Hopefully, feedback gathered here on Product Hunt will help us to see what people want to get from the service.

Ha! Of course, there's a .
Ivan Braun
@rrhoover haha, we had to 3D model them. Those that we've bought on eBay looked fake.
Vlad Korobov
Icons8 team, your are awesome!
Ivan Braun
@vladkorobov you are making us blush :)
Ali Siam
Been looking for something like this for a very long time! Great work to Icons8 team! Website design can be a bit improved and easier to navigate but good for a start!
Ivan Braun
@ali_siam could you elaborate on the design and navigation, please? Interesting.
Van Cust
Nice! It'is very good
Margarita
People on the photos are really cool :)

Looks fantastic, thank you!

Pros:

LOVE the unique concept of groups of photos & a similar theme

Cons:

Not sure yet

Marie
This is per-fect! bravo guys

Amazing product with a very straightforward design. The only thing I would say though is that I had a hard time grasping what "...that match each other" means.
Ivan Braun
@kamenibzv oh, I had line half year editing our tagline and still failed. What I wanted to say is we have the single style which I we call "glossy Kinfolk". Eveey image has a similar lighting, color palette, fashion style, etc. Any idea how should we rephrase it?
Tyler Lastovich
@kamenibzv @visualpharm I agree that the into copy doesn't sound very appealing. Something a bit more casual would fit the light feeling of the site much better. More along the lines of: Free Professional Stock Photo Sets That Together. Or perhaps Stock Photos Designed to Work Together -For Free.
Ivan Braun
@kamenibzv @and_lastly man, I love that. The second one is fantastic. Will do.
Tyler Lastovich
@kamenibzv @visualpharm Sweet! My suggestions got butchered by comment formatting as I put some options in angle brackets (forgot about MD). I suggested adding 'beautiful' or 'modern' before stock photos.
Ivan Braun
@kamenibzv @and_lastly oh, we already did it the original way. Looks good though. Thank you for your copy! Should you need any help from us, you're more then welcome.
Tyler Lastovich
I really love the unique Black Mirror feeling that some of these have! Good mix of 'stock photo' and casual looking images. Keep making more weird, future-tech scenes -very little of that style content is out there. If Unsplash is any indicator this will be very successful.
Ivan Braun
@and_lastly like what? Any particular episode that comes to your mind? :) We've tried cryptocoins, VR, AI so far. Definitely, we'll be doing more. And we accept the ideas here http://request.icons8.com/photo-...
Tyler Lastovich
@visualpharm Some of the pastel pink images with nondescript models reminded me of 'Nosedive' and just in general how personal the interactions seemed with people and robots. I think drones and 'scary looking' servers would make good additions, maybe a transportation category too.
Kevin Mullett

My only concern is that some people read the FREE part and not much else.

Pros:

Photos are of high quality and appear free of logos and other copyright encumbrances.

Cons:

CC BY-ND 3.0 - Requires backlink

Ivan Braun
Here's a secret: we don't enforce our copyright infringements for the last 4 years or so. Well, except this one: https://icons8.com/articles/what...
Joe Batutis
I like these. Wasn't sure what "match" meant initially. The top image that allows you swap the models and backgrounds is intriguing. It would be great to be able to do that with all the images on the fly. How about custom background colors so the photos could match a customer's branding? Lots of possibilities.
Ivan Braun
@jbatutis you're looking right into our version 2.0. We've tried lots of stuff like deep fakes and AI-powered masking, and chose those that work for well. Come back in July!
hunterhart
Now that's what i'm talkin' about. Minimal, yet not to 'stocky'
Sarah Evans
This is great. Can’t wait to check it out. What’s next for you guys?
Anton Zykin
