Connect Icons8 MCP to Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf and get huge icon packs up to 40K icons in your vibe-coding projects. Tell your AI "make these icons colored" or "add food icons" β full coverage guaranteed. Free PNG, $15 SVG.
We got tired of the same boring dance: code something cool β realize it needs icons β open 47 browser tabs β find matching icons β download β import β repeat.
So we built Icons8 MCP server.
Now you just tell Claude Code (or whatever vibe-coding tool you use) "make all icons trendy and outlined" or "add cute food icons to this menu" and boom β it grabs icons from our library of 116 styles and does it.
Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and other coding tools that support MCP. Takes 2 minutes to set up.
PNG icons are free. SVG costs $15 (we need to pay our developers and buy coffee sometimes β).
We've been making icons for 13 years. Now we're making them stupid-easy to use in the AI coding era.
This MCP is bringing us closer to the future - where I just sit with a whiskey and tell (out loud) my agent+MCP squad what to do, how to style, where to get creative, etc. And in an hour I've got a beautiful designer micro-SaaS.
Congratulations to the Icons8 team on the MCP Server launch. The extensive, well-organized icon packs are invaluable for developers. Does the server support batch downloads? How is icon licensing managed?
@techacc All PNG icons downloaded through MCP are free to use if you provide a link back to us. However, itβs always best to check our license here: https://icons8.com/license.
As for batch downloads, this is exactly the feature we are actively working on right now. We want to make it truly powerful, so instead of returning icons one by one, MCP client will be able to send complex queries like "icons for a property management app" and get a list of relevant icons in one go.
@oleg_sobolev yeah, and you may vibe code using prompts like "add german car logos", "add social media icons to the footer" or "from what you know about me, design a page with 5 brands that would make me happier and 5 that won't"
Iβm honestly blown away by how simply connecting the icons8-mcp server instantly gives any website a facelift. Itβs crazy how much better things look with zero hassle!
π₯ Great tool! Saves tons of time searching for icons β just type what you need and get the right style instantly. Fast, convenient, and AI-friendly. Thanks, Icons8!
@michalmalewicz Thank you buddy. And I'm always happy to see you wherever something is happening, one of the first. Your level of self-organization is a wonder.
Iβve been using Icons8 MCP Server with Claude Code for a couple of weeks, and itβs a game-changer for rapid prototyping. Having instant access to such a massive icon library really speeds up my workflow, especially when collaborating with teammates who need specific styles or themes on the fly. The AI integration is super handyβjust telling it to swap out icon colors or add new categories saves so much time. Highly recommend this for developers and designers working on dynamic UI projects or hackathons!
how does the style matching work when there are mixed design systems already in place? For example, I use some custom SVGs in certain components β will it still recommend icons in line with that or override them?
@jharkhandi_chora1 I think it really depends on how the LLM interprets your existing design system.
I just tested this with Cursor + Claude 4 Sonnet β it analyzed my site, saw I was using colored icons, and automatically picked matching colored icons from MCP to complement what I already had:
So the AI seems pretty smart about maintaining visual consistency when it has the context!
@jharkhandi_chora1 it does sometimes; you can get a toolbar with 9 icons of one stroke width and 1 thicker. To keep it conistent, I add the guidelines to claude.md (use icons8 mcp, windows 11 outline style, svg). And sometimes in the prompts too, to be safe.
Finding the right icon shouldnβt slow you down. With Icons8 MCP Server, simply describe the icon you want, and it appears directly in your code editor β no extra clicks, no switching apps. It integrates seamlessly with tools like VS Code and supports thousands of icons in a variety of styles.
Whether you need quick PNGs or scalable SVGs, this tool helps you keep your focus on coding instead of hunting for assets. Itβs a smart, time-saving assistant for developers and designers alike.

@oleg_sobolev thanks!! Sure! We have all kinds of logos: social media, big tech, open source projects etc.

Oh yes. Everyone who has APIs should add MCPs

@ulitiy exactly! and more. Local mcp (from the locally running app) is fun to work too, blazing fast. We're on it.
