welcome back “third voice” (you might be too young to remember the first version of this around ‘99)! love it - could be great for website reviews (design, flow, etc), though if there were strong privacy features/controls, this might be really useful in education (classroom discussions that incorporate websites/links) or business settings

@passingnotes Thanks! I may have just missed out on "third voice", but I'll have to look it up! Huddle has a 'private mode' at the moment, which allows you to make notes/comments only you can see, however there are intentions of introducing a 'private group mode'. This will hopefully cater to those scenarios you mentioned (business/education/etc). Thanks for the feedback!
@passingnotes Just found an old Wired article about Third Voice and their demise. Very interesting. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
yup, it was too early - they lost to litigation, not product value - might be the right time to revive this idea!

I'm excited to share Huddle with Product Hunt. This Chrome extension is intended as a comment section for Netflix, Spotify, Zillow and every other site and file on the Internet.
The idea is to accommodate discussions at their source - whether that be a film, album, product or document. Another inspiration for Huddle is its potential to circumvent online censorship.
Are there any unique use cases for Huddle that immediately occur to you? I'm keen to hear your feedback and suggestions.

@jeff_lee8 I'm still in the process of identifying the highest-utility use case(s) for Huddle, so I won't be making any concerted promotional efforts yet. I'm just looking to speak with people and learn how they might use such a tool. Are you still actively promoting Ahoy!?
@mimmo no, unfortunately I couldn't gain enough user attraction so I stopped promoting it (I didn't pay for advertisements tho. just wrote posts on reddit and other social media platforms).
@jeff_lee8 I've heard a few stories of similar projects that either struggled to gain traction early on or that had some early momentum which fizzled out. Definitely a difficult problem. Thank you for your insights and well wishes!
