Is this even related to the editor with the same name that analyses text and rates it for readability? If not, it's probably breaching various trademarks.

@frassmith I worked on the product when I was at Sharethrough, which is a native adtech startup. No relation to the tool you're mentioning!
Joshua Dance
I just kept following their suggestions and got to this. "The scare is over. The war is over. Taylor Swift rejoice!" 85

For my next medium post... :) "Shocking reasons people get fat even after exercising says Brad Pitt CEO of McDonalds" - 100

I don't know WTF sharethrough.com is, but it doesn't work via VPN so I can't reach the GET IT link. You might want to review this.

@frassmith hmm works fine for me in the UK.

@bentossell Yeah, I got through eventually. Such are the trials of living in China.

"Whoa! What is Kim Kardashian doing with her legs in that picture? Product Hunt is the best!" - 100 You're welcome Product Hunt for the free ad suggestion.

It seems like CoSchedule's Headline Analyzer goes a bit more in depth as far as metrics are concerned. What sets Hemingway apart?

"Hey so this is something that can be interesting" 66. Suggestions: Increase headline length Where's the brand? Use more Alert Words Talk about the body Use Context Words Limit the passive language Try adding a celebrity The suggestions seem like canned responses. But I didn't expect anything more. Seems a little gimmicky to me. Interesting nonetheless. It's always really hard to build these kinds of NLP tools. There really no right answer. I know Buzzfeed is famous for testing the bejsus out of their headlines since they rely so much on traffic but for a hobby writer like me, it's more important for the headline to reflect the actual post. A great way to measure this (stolen from @ev and Medium) is Total Time Reading. Back to the tool - it's a great way to market the core product (much like Hubspot did with the Website Analyzer and Headline Generator) but I don't think it delivers any true value to me. EDIT: Didn't realize tagging someone here tags them in the tweet. Pretty neat and nicely done :)

"I tried this dumb headline analysis tool. You wont believe what happened next." - 66

@frassmith Let me offer a suggestion, "You used your eyes to read this long meaningless headline. What happens next to Kanye and Kim is shocking." - 89. Joking of course. Some of the suggestions here are quite helpful. While click bait is no fun this could definitely be used for good more than evil.
Nikolas Huebecker
@calc It was sad that "Upon finding you exploiting your eyeballs to interpret this long meaningless retentive string of tenacious text. What happens next to Kanye and Kim is scandalous. Find out immediately this March."got a 94

Actually, it might be quite fun to copy and paste headlines from real stories to see how well the pros do.

@frassmith "Jay-z tried this dumb headline analysis tool. You wont believe what happened next." improves the score to 89 =)

@frassmith "kim kardashian just got bill gates in her bed for all night mother fucker, mark zuckerberg got jealous" - 102
"Shocking results about North West that leave Kayne West and Kim Kardashian frightened from the feet up... Open your eyes because they're looking North East!" - 100 lolwut

Very cool tool! Might use this to tweak the copy of our site's main message...hopefully it works better than if I just type in pop culture related :P

In a very objective sense, this is a quite useful tool. I've tried that several times and the results seem credible to me. One thing I would like to know is what the guys from Sharethrough mean by EEG. How do they process such data? Plus, wouldn't be nice if engagement score could also be affected by emojis? :)
Robert Glen Fogarty
It's fun and potentially useful, but I would respectfully urge you to consider changing the name to something not already well-associated with a completely different writing tool!
Florin Muresan
wtf ? Where's Hemingway app in this? I thought it was something made by the hemingway team.
Tassia Bezdeka
"Justin Timberlake: Ice cream is delicious. Soon there will be falling hands and feet everywhere. It's beyond alarming." - 99

Someone needs to make this same thing but for Link Bait headlines.
