Pixel keeps getting better. I've been #TeamiPhone for a while, but this is making me second guess my allegiance. Who's considering switching from iOS to Android for this? πŸ€”
Tabish Gilani
@rrhoover I've been #TeamAndroid or more specifically #TeamPixel for a while. πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸ½ What's making you consider the switch now? Apple's announcement for the XS (+Max) a month ago was pretty big and was making me consider doing the opposite
Jamie Smith
@rrhoover yeah. Same... I feel so... conflicted. But to be fair the only reason I switched was to get in on this sweet iPhone X action but that now feels played out. I would honestly switch just for the feature where you can screen a call! Also, Project Fi is a bit of a dream and I miss having that.

@rrhoover personally I've invested in the iOS ecosystem, not just the phone; I don't think I'll ever switch to Android. But for others who haven't, Pixel 3 seems like a great phone feature-wise. Not sure about the huge notch AND the huge chin, though. IMO it looks kinda ugly from the front.
Justin E. Harris
@rrhoover Loving the screen call feature on the Pixel 3. #HealthKit and the Activity app from Apple Watch has me tied to iOS for life.
Alexis Silva
@rrhoover I already have they have an amazing phone!! I love it and there is souch to do on this phone!

I find a lot of the tech circles (pixel subreddit, etc) discussing the "notch" and "chin" size on this thing, but I'd like someone to poll to see if Normies even care. Personally, any notch is the same to me no matter the size. Phones look fairly monotonous across the board and some mm of notch or chin is barely noticeable. I'm a Pixel person due to getting immediate updates and all the latest accessories, not for the design of the phone because I'm the only one who sees that anyway... That said, this price tag is HIGH for not that much change versus my current Pixel XL first gen. I'm likely going to wait on some after-a-week reviews from heavy usage and not trust first looks.
Kiura
@thatmattgardner I could live with some ugly design, but this one is too ugly, as much as I like google this is a step back. Although I will take a look at it in the store to see if they are actually that ugly. Pixel 3 doesnt look that bad though
Ben Brausen
When you thought the notch couldn't get any bigger or uglier, Google went and proved everyone wrong.
Linda Stout
@benbrausen , Until it shuts off for no reason and customer service tells you there is nothing they can do. Mine was just a year old, in perfect condition, never dropped, wet or out of the case and it just quit

The Pixel 3, "Notch-your average Pixel phone"

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Looks like , I might have to loan my "kidney" for buying this shit.
Joshua Pinter
@aalpanigrahi So was I, bro. Hence the funny meme.

Second year in the row I wait when they finally start make better designs.

Pros:

Clean Android

Cons:

Awful design. God help them.

Google is far from a hardware powerhouse but there is one undeniable fact, they're still an amazing software company.

I'm team Nexus 6p very old hhh already considering this over the note 9! What do you think?

Why even add a notch if you are going to have a chin on the bottom? Why not even it out? I have the first pixel (still running strong), I have 3 google minis, chromecast and use a lot of google services, but what hurts every single time is the lack of creativity and the amount of compromise. To simply put... they have no balls. They look at what other people are doing and just copy and paste, sometimes add a new feature but also remove good features. The presentation today was cringe worthy. The audience was mostly silent, nobody was impressed by anything. The speakers were boring, google Assist could have done those presentations. They showed the phone's back so many times that it was like they were embarrassed of the notch. And they are only releasing this phone on Verizon? Is this 2010? Samsung's phones look the most appealing this year, nice storage, nice screen, headphone jack, s-pen, great specs... what keeps me from buying a samsung? Their bloated software, their desire to force down your throat Samsung services which are crap. I will keep my Pixel 1 for now.
Tauras Sinkus
@tostartafire with you on this one. I'm still enjoying my Pixel 1 and been using Nexus before and I love them. But I would love to see Google innovate more and also be more aggressive on their features. It just fails to give you a deeper story. All this 'become a superhero' crap is so 2014. My pixel should last another year for sure, probably changing to Pixel 4 next year.
Tabish Gilani
Should probably change the description to "Most leaked smartphone of all time" πŸ€”

I've been #teampixel for two years and #teamandroid for more than five! The Pixel is the absolute best android phone you can have! Hasn't slowed down, I think it crashed once, durable, no cracked screens and thee best pictures! iPhone users ALWAYS ask me which iPhone I have by looking at my pics - NOPE Google Pixel folks! Cannot wait to purchase the 3! Don't hesitate - just get it!
Cam Gould

As usual, Google miss the mark when it comes to good design. It's something they just don't understand. Such a shame.

Pros:

Cheap

Cons:

Ugly, bad design

Yari EngineerDogIta
once upon time google told the world how to make good phones with the nexus, now it just follows apple for some high price smartphones. Sure the features are cool, but are worth 1k?
Paul Danyliuk
I want it. But only because my daily driver Nexus 5 (2013) is so dated already, and life has been tough to it.
Kiura
@paul_danyliuk mine is almost dead, nexus 5x got bootloop, hasnt been able to repair it, so using nexus 5 and iPhone X now. Was going to switch to this one... but the notch combined with the chin (the chin doesnt bother me that much though). But if you put iPhone X and pixel 3xl next to each other, you can immediately see how ugly its notch is. Even compared to 1+1 6T leaks
Akinfenwa Olushola
Fantastic.
Smith John
Great!
Robert Vincent
for top notch camera in the land of cell phone this one is got so beast camera. Though price is higher than usual but when someone will buy it for camera they must get different touch than others.
Ian Smith

Like it or not, Google continues to improve its hardware line with every release. Sure, the notch is ugly, but you can hide it with a built-in software setting. The screen and speakers and AI and camera and build quality are all improved.

Pros:

Insane and best AI, as usual. Best camera. Higher quality design components. AND you can hide "the notch" with a built-in software setting.

Cons:

Price is more expensive this year. No headphone jack.

Kiura
Hide? you mean make the notch longer to take up whole space on the top? The bezels are huge, I Really like google's smartphones (I STILL have nexus 5 and nexus 5x). This year tried iPhone X - I really dont understand why people like it. The design of iPhone is great and UI is much smother and more natural, but functionality... I was going to replace the iPhone with pixel 3 or 3xl but the notch! the bezels! Why would you make a phone that ugly? Anyways, I am gonna check if the phones are as ugly as on videos. If I they are not as bad I might buy pixel 3, or I will have to go with 1+1 6T.
Linda Stout
Google Pixel sucks. I have one that turned a year old last month, in perfect condition, never dropped, never wet, always kept in a case and taken care of. It just shut off and will not turn back on. I have heard this is common with the pixel. Almost 1,000.00 for this phone and last a little over a year.
