Yesterday I've built a voice-to-text journaling Telegram bot! 🎙️ I am open sourcing it so everyone can use it for free. 👨‍🔧 I also hope it inspires people to create their own chatbots, as they are awesome! 😄 The readme contains a tutorial how to set it up. After building the voice features for https://luciddreambot.com I saw the power of using voice and decided I wanted to make a voice journaling app. I also had $300 of unused Google Cloud credits sitting in my account catching digital dust. I connected the two and it was a match made in heaven! It uses the @Google Cloud Speech-to-Text API. 🤖 The costs are $0,006 per 15 seconds of audio, but after signing up you receive $300 in free credits, which you can use for 12 months. 💸 With that you can save 208 hours of you journaling! ✍️ To format the text into a paragraph just say 'paragraph' in your voice memo and it will style it accordingly. 👨‍🎨 After the transcription is done a regular expression looks for the word 'paragraph' and replaces it with two '\n', which creates two new lines in the journal 🤖 The title is created dynamically with the date of today, using the Moment.js package. 📅 To give it some extra flair a random animal emoji is added to every title. 🦊 If you have any questions about setting it up, about the code or making a Telegram chatbot in general let me know.
