GetSiteControl is an easy-to-use set of smart widgets for website optimization. Surveys, lead forms, contact forms, live chats, popups, social media buttons — all in one place!
Hey guys! Thank you for hunting us, Marcus!
I'm a co-founder of GetSiteControl. We're huge fans of ProductHunt, and being able to showcase our product here means the world to us. Let me tell you what it is about.
GetSiteControl is a set of 7 most important website widgets in a single app:
- Email opt-in forms
- Contact forms
- Promo bars and popups
- Survey forms
- Follow buttons
- Share buttons
- Live chats
We know we aren't entering an empty market, so we expect few questions on how GetSiteControl is different from Sumo, HelloBar, Optinmonster, Quaraloo, and probably another dozen of great user engagement tools.
Yet, it's not about being quintessentially different, it's about simplifying and combining.
Most companies need different widgets at different times. Say, having a subscription form, a chat window, and an online survey usually means adding three pieces of script or installing three different plugins. Multiple plugins affect website performance, visual appearance and your budget. We've developed 7 most demanded widgets working from a single app, so you could manage them all in one place and deal with one script only.
You can customize widgets, schedule them, set up frequency, animation and trigger points. Our plans for the future are big - like making it possible to customize widgets on a deeper code-level.
Let us know what you think! We're happy to answer any questions.
P.S. GetSiteControl is free in its basic version that allows up to 50K widget views per month.
Product hunters with larger audiences and higher customization demands get a sweet 30% discount using PH30 coupon code at checkout this week.
@timwhite8 Hi Tim!
Thanks for the question!
The short answer is yes, they can. The long answer is that you need a bit of basic programming knowledge to make it happen but yes you can configure your widgets to be displayed when a site visitor performs a certain action on your website (for example, clicks a ‘contact me’ button, adds an item to cart, etc.). We have a guide on how to do this on our website too.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
I've probably used 5-10 widget apps during the last 2+years for all my side projects, and it's always a hassle to find the ultimate one for my current project.
Some are great for lead generation, some for chatting with your visitors, some for collecting feedback. But GetSiteControl has everything in one place (which in my opinion is worth a lot).
Look forward to see what you guys will do in the future :)
A set of 7 website widgets readily available. This is an amazing tool for startups! I particularly like the Survey and Chat widgets. Also appreciate the flexibility to choose the widget position. Now my challenge is not to overcrowd the website. Thanks very much for sharing!
Pros:
Wow Wow Wow I'm speechless with this awesome one-stop tool with CTAs
Cons:
Can't think of any yet .. though wonder if a Welcome Mat could be included
Hey everyone,
I'm one of the makers, and I'm so thrilled to be here!
Some of you may have seen GetSiteControl on PH, because @mkaroumi hunted us 2 years ago (we shamefully missed it!). Since then we've updated the interface, released a WordPress plugin, added several major features like:
- Chat widget connected to Slack
- Widget A/B testing
- Survey logic
- Mobile widget view
and over a dozen of email marketing and CRM app integrations including MailChimp, Infusionsoft, Constant Contact and GetResponse.
Happy to see you here, guys! I've used GetSiteControl for at least 2 years so far on multiple websites. It is one of the most intuitive apps for lead gen, promo bars, popups, share buttons and so forth. The app integrates easily with MailChimp (and some more marketing apps), and it takes only a snippet of code to integrate it with any CMS.
Wish ya' luck! My positive vibes are with you:)
@franchiseking Hi Joel! Yes, definitely, but the way you are notified about new incoming chats depends on whether you are online or offline (you can choose to have the online/offline status updated manually or automatically).
When you are online there will be a sound notification and a browser push notification when a visitor on your website sends a message through the chat form.
When you are offline, you will receive an instant email notification. You can reply to this notification right from your email inbox and the answer will be sent to the visitor. You can also choose to open the actual conversation and chat from there.
I hope that answers your question. If there is anything else you'd like to know, do let me know!
This looks like a great series of tools for small business owners - I have added it to my curations.
I see there is a WordPress plugin - does this mean that we can select by page and post what widgets we want to use or is it just a universal setting for the whole site?
Thanks also for the PH promo code - when is that available to use until? And if you subscribe on a monthly basis does the discount apply only for one month?
Looking forward to testing your platform.
@krishnade Thank you for your feedback and questions! We appreciate your interest in GetSiteControl tools.
You can easily select which pages of your website each widget will be displayed on - each widget has its own page targeting settings. You can choose to display a widget on one page only or on a set of pages. We have a detailed guide on how to use these settings on our website if you want to have a look: https://getsitecontrol.com/howto....
You can use the discount coupon until the end of this week and yes, the coupon is valid for the first payment, either monthly or annual.
Please let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know.
@ksenia_borisova Thanks for coming back to me
You mention Pages for targetting settings - but what about Posts on WordPress?
Thanks for confirming about the discount being for only one month or one year - I was hoping it was for life as many products are
@krishnade aren't WordPress posts essentially separate website pages? 🤔 We have quite a lot of customers using WordPress and they've never mentioned page targeting working differently on WordPress. You just specify URLs or groups of URLs you want to show/hide a widget on in the widget settings (in your GetSiteControl dashboard, not in the plugin). If you try it and meet any difficulties, let us know, we'll be happy to help you set it up.
@ksenia_borisova Posts and Pages are defined separately in WordPress - most plugins will have the option to enable their features to work on Pages or Posts or both in their settings
For those of us with long established sites and blogs this works best as we could have hundreds if not thousands of articles/pages/posts - usually people set a default and then on each page and post you can override the settings with the widget on that page
That makes it easier than having to specify specific urls which may change over time especially as you add new content
@tahaqadri You can easily adapt our Promo widget to be used as a cookie consent notification. We even have a page about this particular use case on our website! You can see it here: https://getsitecontrol.com/useca.... Is this what you mean? Let me know if there is anything else you are looking for in a cookie notification.
Really happy to see the flexibility and options available in this tool. Thanks getSiteControl, I started using it on a project this morning and already feel pretty good about the decisions
Pros:
Really solid tool. You get a lot in the Paid Tiers.
Looks very nice! I suppose it will cover the most of needs to communicate with website visitors, one more question: do you provide some basic stat of widget usage like views, clicks, some conversions? It would be important to track the efficiency.
@alexandramalis Hi Alexandra and thank you for the comment!
There are quite a few options that can help you track and analyze your widgets' performance:
- downloadable reports on each widget that include detailed user info;
- a statistics page for each widget with a click map and a performance summary graph;
- Google Analytics integration that sends custom events to your GA dashboard;
- (a bit more advanced) the option to add a conversion tracking pixel.
I hope this answers your question, which is a good one! If there is anything else you'd like to know, do let me know.
