@erictwillis Thanks again for featuring on the PH - the biggest community of early adopters! MUCH LOVE!!
Hi fellow hunters!
Since your tremendous support the last time, for months we have been working on a new recipe for Get Worm. And after all the time in the kitchen, we are super excited to bring you a new, fresh and delicious Get Worm 2.0!
This Get Worm:
LOOKS BETTER!
We've reset the table, laid the new china and polished the silverware. In short we've redesigned every inch of the platform to give you an awesome visual experience!
TASTES BETTER!
With a brand new search, @mentions in comments and better control over notifications and accounts settings, Get Worm is now more delicious than ever!
REWARDS BETTER!
We love our frequent flyers who are always active and engaging on Get Worm, and what good is an early adopter rewards platform which does not recognize its own users?
Hence you'll now find your early bird credits on your dashboard. These credits will earn you shiny new badges on your profile and special gifts on reaching milestones
There are many more features that we can talk about, but reading isn’t quite as fun as discovering new stuff - after all you are an “early adopter”, right?
Looking forward to chat to all the curious cats here!
Love from Melbourne,
Sarthak
@sarthakmoghe Setting up my account now. I noticed that of the various category options I'm required to choose, my product doesn't fit into any. (it's resume and job application tools for job seekers). Not sure how to categorize that, possibly "Professional tools"? Something like Sketch could possibly fall under the same category...
@wuss Hi Noah, thanks for the feedback. You are right, we should introduce a few more categories. For now the closest ones may be Technology and Education??
Thanks @thisdickie! Its free to submit your startup and get upto 100 users. But since we love the PH community so much, we're happy to give FREE FOREVER accounts to all the PH members!
@tigranhakobian True to the adage of "early bird gets the worm", we publish campaigns based on first come first serve basis :) Depending on the queue it can take between a day to three...
Signed up and earned 58 worms straight, thus two shining batches so far. Can't love this enough being a startup enthusiast! Wanted to know how to know what gifts are coming and how many more worms to get there? Just curious. Cheers!
@sagar868 Wow - that's Great! I hope that you will sign up to all the 58 startups and help them with your feedback :). We have over 400 active campaigns right now, but I'd encourage you to subscribe to those you like and care about.
@sarthakmoghe yeah I am signing up. They all match my interests! May I know what's the use of earning batches please. I guess you missed that from my previous comment. Thanks!
@sagar868 the badges are like medals, they tell the community how active and engaged early adopter you are. The credits on the other hand are like frequent flyer miles. In the near future the plan is to work with startups and businesses for you to be able to redeem it for things like premium plans, discounts etc.
@sarthakmoghe Wow! This is awesome. Just signed up as an early adopter. Good luck 🔥
Btw, it looks like there is a bug in the sign up work flow. If I chose to sign up via Twitter and click on 'skip' in the referral key box, it says 'You don't have access. But if I hit enter key instead of skip, it works fine. Is that expected behavior?
@pravilz@sarthakmoghe Thanks for signing up, Pravil :)
Nope, that's absolutely not an expected behavior. I'll take a look in the code and see what's causing this. Thanks for reporting!
This is such a great idea! If this takes off this will be a good solution for new projects to get their very-early-adopters, which have been the most challenging part of launching (for me at least). Just posted getpongup.com there as well!
@dennisong Thanks for your kind words! We know how hard is it for a startup with limited or no funds to get traction - Get Worm was actually inspired by this very problem that we faced with our previous startup, which failed because of lack of early adoption. :(
We love Get Worm! Our startup (https://postplay.io) acquired a couple big customers in our first week all because of a deal we posted on Get Worm! It's streamlined and really works! :)
That's awesome @drewpark88 - Thank you! I think postplay is an excellent way to turn any blog or article into a podcast
If anyone here is interested Postplay is offering 15% off to all early birds https://getworm.com/startup/post...
Was scrolling around the site and realized that I had to be logged in to view a startups website (cause the only way to do that is to click "get worm). Would be nice if you could have an option that just allowed you to view the website for those of us that want to know more about the startup before we commit.
Edit: found the button but you have to click the startup's name then click website, a bit confusing and isn't really intuitive for someone that is just scrolling through your website. Would love it it was next to the "get worm" button.
@kevinye93 thanks for the feedback! However we do have a button called "visit site" on every campaign page as well (right above the "followers" on the left side). The button grouping is done based on the relevant actions - so in desktop view the left side actions are w.r.t Startup such as "follow", view profile and visit site + social links. While the actions for campaign on the right side are "Get Worm", "Vote" and "Share".
Hope that makes sense! :)
Thanks @thinker, if you'd like to be involved, we have a community called Get Worm Insider - who get first access to the new things and help us grow Get Worm! Let me know :)
