What were your goals for Q1 and how successful were you? (Wrap up)
We had 90 days to accomplish what we set for ourselves.
Many people set yearly goals β New Year's resolutions β but I believe quarterly goals are more sustainable and achievable.
Can you share your goals and also results?
I am pretty curious how your 1/4 of the year went. π
These were mine for Q1 and to be transparent, I am gonna rank them:
π Interview 2 guests for my YouTube channel
β I interviewed only one.π Prepare for a 30-day YouTube challenge (write scripts)
β Completed 30 scripts.π Reach out to creators for newsletter recommendations
β I did it in January and was recommended by many creators.
π Claim at least 2 paid collaborations (no matter whether my project, e.g. sponsors or someone else's project)
β I claimed more.
π Publish my first coded project publicly
β It is not finished and probably will not publish it publicly (changed my direction).
π Read every day
β It was successful until the end of January. :D
π Stick to my exercising & learning habits (+ improve them)
β Cannot say that improved them but still stick to them.
π Grow each platform by 20%
β Achieved only 50% of them.Current count:
Bluesky: 4276 β 5156 β
LinkedIn: 3581 β 3966 β
Newsletter: 289 β 964 β
Product Hunt: 5413 β 6561 β
X: 1685 β 1895 β
YouTube: 539 β 612 β
"Achievements" I didn't expect:
β Invited to spaces to talk about art, marketing and content creation
β Got first paid newsletter subscriber
β Was travelling to another country
β Learned new things in Blender

Great idea, @busmark_w_nika ! π
I totally agree β quarterly goals feel much more realistic and achievable than yearly ones. Here's how my Q1 went:
π― My main goal: validate demand for my product, build an MVP, and onboard first paying users.
β Conducted 10 in-depth user interviews to understand pain points and needs clearly.
β Launched an initial MVP (quite raw, but usable!).
β Got my first 3 paying customers through manual outreach β huge milestone for me!
β Tested 3 traffic channels (Product Hunt, Reddit, and LinkedIn) and defined one clear winner to scale.
β Posted consistently on LinkedIn (#buildinginpublic), Telegram, and Twitter (at least 5 posts each).
β Visited Singapore and Universal Studio
β Didn't manage yet to connect with 7 founders of similar productsβgot just 3 so far, but working on it!
Overall feeling: energized and optimistic. First results are in, lessons learned, and Q2 looks exciting!
And congrats on "Got first paid newsletter subscriber" π

@ilia_productdesigner You managed quite a lot! Congratulations.
I have more questions:
β what is the product?
β which channel proved to be the best one?
β what do you expect from the collaboration with founders of similar products?

@brian_arndt1 what's the name of the tracking app? :)
Oh, a quarterly plan sounds great! I think Iβll try it next quarter as well. Thanks for sharing your journey with me. By the way, the text was all tilted, so I ended up tilting my head too haha.

@kay_arkain I already shared the post β you can write them down here :D https://www.producthunt.com/p/general/q2-what-are-your-goals-for-the-next-3-months
Hi Nika, thanks for sharing your goals. Here are some of my goals for Q1:
β Earned 500 kitty coins in PH
β had 100 followers in PH
(but these two goals will be realized soon in April)
β read at least 2 books/month
β kept learning Japanese everyday
β prepared for my first international trip (including obtaining a visa, booking flights, and reserving a hotel).

Hey Feliciana :) Thanks for sharing too :) What books have you read? :)
Another question: where do you travel?
@busmark_w_nika I read a series of books by Shinobu Yoshii, including Tokyo 8 Square Meters, Tokyo Bookstore, and An Extraordinary Way of Living. These books increased my interest on Japanese lifestyle and I finally decided to travel to Japan in May. Besides, I also read several novels by W. Somerset Maugham, with The Painted Veil leaving the deepest impression. It really worth reading! :)

Cool β some of my friends visited Japan and consider it like a really beautiful country (especially since people are punctual there). Let me know how you liked it there then :)
@busmark_w_nika Yes, I have seen so many beautiful pictures and videos about Japan. Looking forward to May :)
