What’s the biggest value of launching on Product Hunt?
Let’s be honest : everyone who launches on Product Hunt dreams (a little or a lot) of hitting the top of the daily leaderboard.
But let’s put the trophy aside for a moment.
What else does a good launch bring?
From what I’ve seen across multiple launches, teams usually find value in three key areas:
– Users: Whether it’s hundreds or thousands, getting real people to sign up and try your product is always a win.
– Investor attention: It might not be a pitch deck, but strong performance on PH signals validation and that’s caught the eye of more than a few VCs/angel investors.
– Backlinks: For teams who aren’t even chasing upvotes, the SEO boost alone can be worth it. Product Hunt’s domain authority is no joke (90 in July 2025).
What about you? What’s been the most valuable outcome of a PH launch in your experience?👇

Might sound off-beat, but supporters and friends are the biggest takeaway from the launches and the same supporters and friends often become users and customers.
I so wish PH starts striking a rev-share partnership with Makers and extend some product's visibility beyond the launch day. Think AppSumo but on PH.
I believe there used to be a deal section on PH, not entirely sure about it. Faded memory.
@rohanrecommends Agreed. Friendships are the most important asset I’ve met a lot of cool people here. And that can’t be measured by ranks and so on.
When I launched on the PH for the very first time, my expectations were "more monetising".
It is not wrong, but I would rather say that awareness, publicity and getting first-users or increasing user base is a more accurate benefit.
@busmark_w_nika Absolutely agree. Money is the last thing you can. The main positives of a launch are completely different.

Even If the product doesn't rank, or gain traffic. At least you have a link out there for robots to crawl and find you out.

For feedback on the product, also yours including your listed options.
@ixord Was the feedback useful, or was it rather too general?

@byalexai It was useful, I added a couple of new features and now my product looks more flexible than it was.
For us, it’s not just traffic — it’s early market signal. We’re gearing up to launch a new way for YouTubers to monetize and brands to sponsor directly via auctions, and PH is one of the few spaces where both sides of that market actually hang out and engage authentically.
@uxyemi Nice Yemi!
What's your product ?
@byalexai Our product is an online auction marketplace for YouTubers to seek brand sponsorships by selling ad slots in their upcoming videos.
Underrated: Reviews.
From my perspective, launching on Product Hunt also is an opportunity to collect customer testimonials.
