Stop Selling Upvote Bots. You're Damaging the Platform.
To the sellers of upvote bots:
You're not "supporting" makers. You're misleading the community.
Product Hunt was built to surface genuinely useful, creative, and innovative products. The moment fake upvotes flood the rankings, it becomes harder for real builders to gain visibility — and easier for spam and mediocrity to win.
To fellow makers and users:
If you're considering buying upvotes, ask yourself this:
If your product can't win with honest support, is it really ready to launch?
We're here to discover great ideas, support each other, and grow. Let's keep Product Hunt a place where that’s possible.
If you agree, comment below or share your thoughts.
And if you're building something authentic, you’ve got my upvote — no bots required.

Product Hunt
Thank you for this thread! I would like to add this doesn't even work. Upvote sellers may contact you just before your launch and present evidence claiming how effective their service is. However, this evidence is always fabricated. In most cases, your launch will be negatively impacted by having votes removed or even being unfeatured.

Thanks for bringing this to light. Let’s keep Product Hunt real and fair
The whole point of this platform is to discover new, original stuff not whoever pays for the most clicks.

I completely agree with this perspective. Selling or buying upvote bots undermines the trust and value of Product Hunt for everyone. Genuine feedback and real user interest are what help good products stand out and improve. When fake upvotes distort the rankings, it’s not only unfair to honest makers, but it also confuses users looking for quality products.

Yeah, upvote bots are probably not effective but people gaming the website in community is worst tbh
