ROI on Product Hunt

Builders, for those of you who have launched on Producthunt or actively engage in comment sections; What is the ROI here? As a new user and builder myself, how do you get the most value out of this platform?

For those who've launched: How many people are actually following through with feedback, beta testing, or staying in contact long term? Are those 10-20% of people worth it?

For those active in threads: How do you get value? How often does the scratch my back and I'll scratch yours exchange actually take place/help? Are you just here to scroll?

If you come here looking for an answer, how much time do you spend looking for it before you go to the next platform? Is reddit the alternative?

If you have any good strategies, let me know!! Would love to learn more.

My experience is the following

When you launch and you get close to 100 likes,
I would say you will definitely get between 5-15 people try your app.

- I cannot say much about the forum, but definitely you can connect with fellow makers on LinkedIn
And exchange likes if you ask nicely

@gapostolov Thanks man that's good to know. Definitely gonna be connecting with people.

Good luck with your launch btw will definitely be checking it out

@gapostolov I totally agree.

Launching soon!
I too am about to launch but I can say that there is value in terms of keeping spirits high by drawing inspiration from fellow makers. Also, forums are good but discussion topics are too less due to very severe moderation so value is severely dented.

@manu_goel2 I think the keeping spirits high is an important point--- whether it's exactly the answer i need or far from what i was looking for, people are always offering something here

Great questions.

So far, the value I’ve seen is in early feedback, making a few solid connections, and getting some visibility.

The “scratch my back” vibe exists, but only works when it’s genuine. I try to support products I truly like, and that usually comes back around.

Still testing what works best — open to more tips too!

@ninaaaa0913 Thank you! Definitely looking for the early feedback haha!

to support the products you actually like you have to find them first- how much time are you spending on here? It is casual scrolling?

Thanks for asking this. I'm in the same boat and wondered exactly the same thing! 🙏

@martin_rue Of course, take a look at some of the replies my G.

Product Hunt can be great for visibility, but the ROI really depends on how well you engage with the community.
