New on Product Hunt — Header Images, Product Hub UI, Discussion Post Topics
Product Hunt has rolled out some fresh updates. Here are some noteworthy changes I observed:
Header images in the launch posts
You can now add header images in your launch posts. Recommended size: 1200x630 and supported formats are JPG, PNG and GIF.
Product Hub UI
Product Hub UI seems revamped similar to the launch post UI.
Discussion Post Topics
Maybe the PH team observed what usually gets shared in the Discussion Posts and then they updated the topics: General, Introduce Yourself, Self-Promotion, Product Recommendations, AMA and no category.
Discussion Posts now appear under Discussion Section by default for 24 hours like Instagram stories.
Launches I found interesting today:
Stella AI: AI agent for automating daily admin tasks
Lemio: Dopamine Detox App
Roadloom: Product roadmap software
Two updates that I would like to propose:
1. Ability to tag members on Discussion Posts and it's comments. Saw Rajiv recently testing it.
2. Rich formatting options like Reddit in the Maker Comment and Discussion Posts.

My daily perusal of the PH offerings always spike some interesting thoughts and discoveries but a week later or days later it's nearly impossible for me to find the launch I was trying to recall because the search functionality is sorely underserving the PH community.

@terrence_kelleman That's a good feedback. BTW, are you utilising the bookmark feature?
@rohanrecommends yes I love those but for some reason the universe has decided that only projects that I don't bookmark become useful for someone I know and in my attempt to find and share those resources I go down the rabbit hole. 🕳️🐇☕
@terrence_kelleman have you tried looking at the launch archive? It’s only helpful if this context if you remembered what day it launched.
Thanks for the updates. These new features certainly add more flavor to the overall experience of PH.
I'd suggest improving the visibility of new posts. There are so many interesting questions that often get buried and end up without a single upvote or comment. Even when sorting by new discussions, these posts don’t appear right away and can take hours to show up.
@ash_grover Looks like the new forums publish latest discussions first so the new threads have a chance to be seen :)
