Is Our AI Speech Therapy App Medical, HealthTech, or EdTech? Struggling to Define the Right Sector

We’re building something like Duolingo — but for people with speech disorders. Our app helps users overcome challenges like stuttering, lisping, and aphasia, through AI-powered speech exercises and personalized feedback. In some cases, users can benefit without needing a live therapist, while in others, we allow optional support from licensed speech professionals. But here’s the issue: we don’t know where this app truly fits. Is it a Medical product, since it deals with clinical conditions? Is it HealthTech, helping people improve wellbeing and communication? Or is it EdTech, since it uses structured learning and gamification to retrain how people speak? Even in academia, the field of speech therapy is split — some therapists come from medical schools, others from education or special needs faculties. That makes it even harder to: Pick the right investors Classify it on the App Store / Play Store Decide what regulatory frameworks might apply 🧠 If you've built or invested in a cross-sector app, I’d love to hear: How would you categorize something like this? What lens do investors and platforms expect for a product like this? If I have to commit to one sector — which gives the best traction? Deeply appreciate any advice 🙏
