Is it worth making another b2c AI product?

Hi! How are things going for those who launched an AI product recently?

I seen that the cost of getting a paying user through ads can reach $200 for AI products! And still, that doesn't stop anyone - on Product Hunt I see 2/3 new AI products every single day.

Where do you find cheaper traffic sources? Is it worth doing? What launch strategy should I choose?

It's hard to count on virality - most products don't have it.

Totally feeling this. That $200 CAC number is wild, but I've seen it firsthand too. What’s helped a few folks I know is leaning into niche communities early (Slack groups, private forums, strategic LinkedIn posts) instead of defaulting to paid ads. Not necessarily viral, but highly targeted. Also, partnerships with creators and consultants in adjacent spaces can quietly drive quality traffic without the splashy spend

@vivek_sharma_25 How do you think, does all the advertising reflect just the competition? Or also how hard it is to get users for AI products? I mean, do people really need that much AI?

@vadim_archugov Honestly, I think it's a mix of both. The ad spend reflects insane competition, but it also shows how tricky it is to pinpoint real use cases people actually need.

There's a lot of curiosity around AI but turning that into sustained engagement is the hard part. Users might want AI, but they don’t always know how to integrate it meaningfully into daily workflows. That gap between hype and habit is where most products struggle.
