If you could automate one annoying part of your workflow, what would it be?
We’ve all got that one thing we still do manually that makes us groan every time - formatting copied text, renaming files, setting up tasks, writing the same message again and again.
If you could wave a magic AI wand and automate just one repetitive thing, what would it be?
Bonus if you’ve actually hacked a solution for it, I love learning from clever automations.
Also: I’m working on something in this space, so I’m not just asking for fun 😉

As a dev, I would like something in between the spaces of using web chat prompts for AI, and the full IDE style Cursor solution. AI doesn't get nearly enough things right for Cursor to be efficient for me, I spend 95% of my time in a terminal, and so something that would make my workflows easier of switching between the web browser to talk and copy data from Claude and into the proper files and such in terminal would be really nice. May already be a tool out there for this like terminal Ollama CLIs with Vim integration or something but I haven't found anything I quite like in my cursory searches
@cogentleman It actually sounds like app i'm creating could help with exactly this.
Since it passively collects and organizes your clipboard data locally, it already has the context you’re working with logs, code, commands, notes, etc.. without needing you to manually prep or feed it into a chat box.
The idea is that when you do want to ask something (summarize, extract, reformat, explain), the AI doesn’t start from zero, it’s already got the info.
Definitely not a full IDE assistant, but maybe that “middle layer” you’re describing: not intrusive, but always ready.
so your idea is for an ai which which could automate and handle task like renaming file and auto write basic text on its own
how is your vision different from the existing tools availb;e
if am i wrong to interpret clarify
End of day time tracking. I always forget what I worked on. Started using a simple browser extension that tracks tabs and helps me recall not fully automated, but helpful.
Invoicing and creating reports :D
@busmark_w_nika Totally feel this! Just built IndieHQ (indiehq.org) to solve my own invoicing nightmare - was paying my accountant £300+ yearly just to reformat exports for UK taxes. Now it's one-click HMRC-ready reports. What's your biggest invoicing pain point?
@builtby_decency I think it is creating invoices each month. :D
@busmark_w_nika Ugh yes, monthly invoices were the worst! Now I just duplicate last month's in IndieHQ, tweak whatever changed, and done. 30 seconds vs 30 minutes 😅
@builtby_decency Do the same in Notion, but still a lot of work with reports from Toggl etc. :D
Pokecut
I enjoy developing simple automation tools myself to handle repetitive tasks at word, but i find that there are still many bugs, which confuses me!
Security questionnaires and legal redlining from enterprise prospects. This takes so much time!!!
