I've launched ratemycookies.com last year and don't know what to do with it

Hi all,

I'm following an advice from chat-GPT to post here on an attempt to get a new life for ratemycookies.com.

I've launched it last year as a fun project to rate cookies with my family. The idea is simple you search for a cookie or scan a barcode and rate a cookie. Didn't really have a monetisation model for this, but hoped it could go viral and be the next IMDB or Untapped.

Didn't have a lot of traction and since I didn't have a monetisation model and the concept was dependent on UGC, I've dropped the project to work on something more aligned with problems that I am more familiar with.

Now the point is, I have no idea on what to do with the project, feels too good to throw away, but I don't have the or know the space that well to carry it on.

Looking for advice, or for someone willing to take the project on.

I would experiment with minor collaborations with nearby bakeries. Allow them to showcase their cookies, receive genuine feedback, and potentially provide discounts via the website. Before expanding, it could be an enjoyable approach to gain a local following.

Great idea + good execution doesn’t always equal viral success, especially when you rely on user-generated content without a strong community or clear monetization roadmap.

What if it became an AI-powered cookie discovery engine? Imagine users not only rating cookies, but also receiving personalized cookie recommendations based on their taste preferences, dietary restrictions, or even their mood that day. By leveraging barcode scans, you could build a rich dataset and train models to predict which cookie someone might crave next. This would transform a simple rating site into an intelligent cookie sommelier.

As @edith_christian said, try a collaboration with someone, maybe a calorie tracking website or something related to food, recipes, or health. But try to create some monetisation model – maybe ads within the app? (That's another thing – it would be easier to scan the cookie with the smartphone camera than using the browser on the web).

I found this, you can inspire by them: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrumblCookies/comments/vpu5f8/rate_cookies_concept_mockup/
