Have you successfully used feedback from Product Hunt to enhance your marketing campaigns or strategies?

I want to hear your experiences and examples of how insights gained from PH have influenced your marketing efforts afterward.

...whether it's refining your messaging, identifying new target audiences, or enhancing product features, would love to hear how you've made your launch responses actionable!

Hi Chris! You've gotten me thinking...

Product Hunt has been a useful wake-up call for me—not just in terms of exposure, but in sharpening my instincts around what actually matters for a launch.

Seeing what works (and what struggles) has helped reset my sense of what’s table stakes vs. what’s actually differentiated.

A slick demo, clear positioning, community anticipation, a sharp comment strategy—a product that works—these aren’t “nice to haves,” they’re prerequisites. Which may be less intuitive than you'd think, at least to some.

It’s also making me ask better questions and put myself closer to the product (shocking as a marketer, I know). Not just “what do we want out of launch?” but:

  • What’s the real-world shift we’re creating for someone who tries us today?

  • What would make a user recommend us after 10 minutes with the product?

  • How do we remove friction from something that normally feels like a chore?

The last thing is this: I hope we have what it takes to get featured on PH when we launch ourselves. But it's not just a channel. It's a community, and a dynamic one at that. Success is so far from certain: great products get less attention than they deserve on here all the time. People can do everything right and not receive as much traction as they should.

So in that sense it is also super humbling, and I feel like I owe it to every other launch on here to take it as seriously and give it as much effort as they have. And ultimately, that feels like a healthy mindset for us, wherever we put stakes in the ground.

@cholden_lewis Some very good questions there. The second one specifically, related to value realization within the product. Good luck with your launch btw! :)

Launching soon!
I recently took PH community’s feedback on our tag line and actually took action based on that. Also, @busmark_w_nika gave feedback on our product video and we changed it. Similarly, got feedback on our copy and made some edit there. So, it’s making a difference even in pre-launch stage.

Yes, infact in my previous launch we had a lot of users pouring in from all over the world. This meant we had to cater to different geographies with our messaging and marketing. Not only that, we discovered very new target personas and user groups who wanted to use our product for very creative use cases. PH launch was an eye opener and definitely something that gave us a new direction in our startup journey!

@chrismessina Hey Chris! I'm Adam Pagon with Next Sparc, where we’ve worked with Robots & Pencils (you may know Mike Sikorsky, Tracey Z., or Len P.). We were there when you launched Missions on PH, later acquired by Salesforce/Slack. I’m new to PH and haven’t incorporated feedback yet (I am launching a project myself), but I would love to connect via email for your insights. Any chance we could discuss your PH launch strategies? Happy to comp you for your time (per your personal booking site). Let me know, Adam
