How do you structure your business as a solopreneur building multiple SaaS products?

Hey guys 👋

I'm a solo founder currently building my first SaaS product, and I'm planning to launch a few more niche products in the future. I'm based in Australia and operating under my ABN (sole trader), but I’m trying to figure out the best way to structure things for the long run.

Some questions I’ve been thinking about:

  • Do you operate under a single business name/entity and treat each SaaS as a product?

  • Or do you register a new business name for each app/brand you launch?

  • Do you use a holding company or parent brand (like “XYZ Labs”) and group everything under that?

  • How do you handle things like Stripe, terms of service, privacy policies, and legal identities across multiple products?

  • And how do you balance simplicity with branding clarity?

Would love to hear how you’ve structured your solo business, what’s worked, and what you’d do differently if you started again.

Thanks in advance to anyone who shares 🙌

Hey Victor!
Just trying to answer your queries based on my experience! Hope it's gonna help.

  • Single Entity: Yes, operate under one business name to simplify management and taxes.

  • New Business Names: Only if each product targets a vastly different audience or else stick with one.

  • Holding Company: Consider this option (like “XYZ Labs”) for liability protection and easier brand management.

  • Handling Legalities: Use Stripe for all products under one account but create clear terms and privacy policies for each.

  • Simplicity vs. Clarity: Start with a single brand then expand as needed based on market feedback.

Good luck!

Hey there! 👋 As a solo founder myself, I totally get where you’re coming from. Here’s what’s worked for me:

I operate under a single business entity and treat each SaaS as a product line rather than separate businesses. It keeps things simpler legally and financially, especially with taxes and accounting 📊✅.

Using a parent brand like “XYZ Labs” is a great idea if you want to build a cohesive identity across products, but it’s not necessary from day one. You can always evolve into that structure later as you grow 🚀.

For Stripe, legal docs, and terms — I keep a unified set under the main business name but customize the branding and policies slightly for each product to keep things clear for users and compliant legally 📄🔒.

Balancing simplicity and branding clarity is tricky! I focus on clear product messaging while keeping the backend structure lean. Less admin overhead means more time building 🙌💡.

Hope this helps! Would love to hear how others handle it too 😊👍
