How Do You Nail a Product Hunt Launch for Max Upvotes & Feedback?
Hey Product Hunt Community,
I’m prepping to launch a new tool on Product Hunt and want to make a splash. What’s your playbook for a successful launch?
Details:
Setup: Indie maker, building a productivity web app (2025), planning a Product Hunt launch.
Context: Following Product Hunt’s launch guide, I’ve created a product page with a video, screenshots, and a clear description. My beta has ~50 users, but I’m unsure how to drive upvotes and feedback.
Steps Tried:
Scheduled launch for a weekday morning (per guide).
Drafted a catchy tagline and used relevant tags (e.g., “productivity”).
Shared beta with X followers; got some interest but limited buzz.
Goal: Get 500+ upvotes and actionable feedback to refine my product.
Questions:
What strategies boost upvotes during a Product Hunt launch?
How do you craft a product page that grabs attention?
Any tips for engaging the community pre- and post-launch?
For those with top launches, what’s your secret sauce?
Excited for your tips! Thanks!

You can write to people on LinkedIn during the launch who are part of the PH community for help, they will help. I also advise adding a video about the product, this will increase your chances. I read an article that with a video there is a greater chance of getting more votes because people will clearly understand what they are voting for.
Hi @ixord
Thanks for the great tips! Reaching out to PH folks on LinkedIn and adding a clear product video really boosted my launch prep. Appreciate the advice!
