how do you get quality feedback to understand if your product is viable?
Hey everyone,
We are doing everything we can to gain insights and get feedback on our app. The people that trial our app do not seem open to discussing their experience or providing feedback so I thought I would ask fellow founders how you overcame this and where you go to get insights and feedback on your app.
Thank you in advance for any help.

We, at Jupitrr AI, ask users to schedule a call with us on every export of video. A lot of them schuedule but ditch llater but we still had 1000s of user calls in last one year. Whoever has taken the call, shares a summary in our Slack Channel. This helps everyone understand the users better. And I think it helped us shape Jupitrr AI a lot.
Maybe, you can try something like that.
@lakshya_singh Thank you for your insights. We have been trying really hard to engage with our trialing users but for whatever reason we cannot get any responses. We have A/B tested methods of communication, language / messaging, and incentives and for whatever reason nobody wants to chat. We will keep trying!
You have already gotten great responses, here are my 2 cents:
I've noticed that it's tough to get real, honest feedback from users even when you’re putting in the work.
I’ve seen that sometimes, the best insights don’t come from a fancy survey, but from simple conversations with people who actually match your ideal customer (or your MVP users). If live calls are a stretch to arrange, async methods like quick video or voice notes can lower the barrier and still bring out authentic reactions.
If trial users keep ghosting you, maybe it’s worth looking closer at what would make them want to share. Is there a way to make them feel like they’re part of building something?
Sometimes tiny gestures like acknowledging their role as early insiders or just making them feel impactful work better than incentives.
And honestly, when you hit radio silence, that’s feedback too. It can signal something’s off in the onboarding or messaging, maybe the value isn’t coming across clearly yet.
If anyone’s cracked the code on turning unresponsive users into true product collaborators, I'm just super curious to hear how they fixed it.
@sanskarix Thank you for writing this out. There are a few tips here that I haven't heard elsewhere that I am eager to try. Adding a little video message into an email or reach out might help personalize it. I think a lot of people fail to see that there are a few humans behind the apps we use.
I also like the idea of adjusting the narrative over to early insiders.
I would say that the best option is to have a call with your ICP. But if they do not want to jump on one, send them form.
+ Do not hesitate to ask experience founders, because they can give you solid tips for improvements.

In such situations, you can offer bonuses for a product review. Depending on your target audience, there may be different needs for bonuses, and it is better to set aside a little time for this.
