Do you use "less traditional" platforms for advertising or as a marketing channel?

A few days ago, I read a Pinterest report stating that more and more people are searching for topics related to digital detox on the platform.

I realised that I have never used this one platform as a marketing channel, there is a huge target audience from the US, and it has around 480 million monthly active users – so possibly good for the digital detox app I collaborate with.

Another client wanted to promote on Tinder (tho I wasn't very convinced with such a suggestion as it was not related to the product so much). 😅

What "less common" platforms do you use for promoting the product, and what results do you have?

(I mean other platforms besides Meta products, LI, Twitter, YouTube/Google and TikTok)

Bonus points if you can give any insights on Pinterest promotion. :)

Pinterest users are often looking for inspiration, solutions, and positive lifestyle changes. This fits perfectly with the theme of "Digital Detox".They're not passively receiving information; they're actively searching for it. :)

@partick_support Do you have a personal experience with promoting there or setting up campaigns? (At first, I wanna try it organically.)

@busmark_w_nika Not yet, but it's worth a try.😁

@partick_support I am trying but I was told that I need to live in a platform because for now it looks like an advertisement, which is kinda of true :D

I considered using Pinterest for one of my projects but eventually put the idea on hold. Even though visual presentation is important there — and my target audience might be present — the funnel becomes too long, and the resource investment wouldn’t pay off at this stage.

@kirill_golubovskiy What is your project? :)

@busmark_w_nika I’m working on an online UX/UI design school — one of the projects I see real potential in locally right now. It’s a mix of a hands-on hard skills course and a bootcamp-style experience with sprint simulations.

@kirill_golubovskiy Cool! But don't you think that people would also appreciate any offline option? :) Like a part of socialising, physical contact.

@busmark_w_nika Not sure that’s really relevant. My target audience loves technology, lives and communicates online — and they’re not all in the same city.

As a promotional content event — maybe, yes. But more like a small offline workshop for up to 30 people, with an online stream.

We’re actually planning something like that at the end of August :)
