One thing to note is that Wordle doesn't actually have a backend. It's just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. However, I'd recommend using any language that you're familiar with or that you want to learn. There is no stack that is better suited for Wordle clones. I'd use Caddy, Common Lisp, and Hunchentoot. You will probably use something else.
