Anyone here transition from business to engineering?

Hey PH friends,

I come from a business background, mostly focused on growth, marketing, and helping startups scale.

Like many solo founders, I’ve always relied on teaming up with someone on the tech side to bring ideas to life.

But recently, a few friends challenged my usual approach.

They said:

“Why not just build it yourself? With AI tools available now, you don’t need to wait for a technical co-founder.”

That got me thinking.

I’ve started exploring AI-assisted dev tools and no-code platforms, but I’m still early in the journey.

So I’m wondering:

  • Has anyone here made the leap from business or growth into building your own product as a solo dev?

  • Were you able to launch something real, like a working site or app, without a tech background?

  • What tools or platforms did you start with?

  • How did you learn enough to get going?

Would love to hear your experiences, challenges, and any helpful resources.

If you’ve been through this transition, please share. I think a lot of non-technical founders like me are seriously considering this path now more than ever.

Thanks!
