The creepiest tool I used in the last year - yet it's amazing what you can learn using the funnelling and the element tracking!
"All your clicks are belong to us!"
Hello out there!
There’s a new way to use FullStory: for free.
Over the past few years, we’ve gotten lots of feedback from small teams and startups that love FullStory but just can’t stretch into a paid plan. We get it. Heck, we’ve been there.
We started FullStory because we believe everyone—businesses, end users, everyone—benefits from a more perfect online experience. So, the idea that there were teams that really cared about their customer’s experience but couldn’t afford a CX tool that would help felt antithetical to our mission. No longer.
Hope you’ll give it a try and spread the good word.
We’ll be hanging around and happy to answer any questions.
To the future,
Scott
@scott_voigt This is the best news ever! Such a useful tool but the price tag made it impossible for our small team to continue using it. Thank you! =D
@gleamfire Hi there. FullStory actually has a powerful Mixpanel integration if you wish to use both tools in tandem (and because the tools don't really compete with each other). Mixpanel requires a lot of instrumentation in order to start collecting data but once it's up and running, the focus is on deep, highly customized analytics (funnel building, a/b tests, etc).
FullStory captures all the events your customers are doing on your website or in your product so that you can search for any event (no instrumentation required), get some big picture analytics on that event (like how many people have done it, who they are, what the trend is like over time etc). Then, you can dive in and watch those customer's sessions, to see what their experience was like - where they struggled or hesitated etc.
Give a try to see what I mean.
@gleamfire I think Amy's description above covers the gist of it ⬆️
FWIW, we see Mixpanel as an entirely different category of analytics tool. In fact, we have a number of customers that use both FullStory and Mixpanel...so much so, that we built an integration between the two platforms!

Hope you'll take fullstory for a spin and let us know what you think.
@giohobbins Super thanks - I'm looking for something really really easy because my startup team has no experience with mixpanel but we want better insights than google analytics. It seems that Fullstory is an easier option so I already signedup and will install the code snippets. Also there's a good thread going on over on bubble.is - which is what I'm using for our app - forum about this that would be good to hop on and clarify: https://forum.bubble.is/t/fullst...
@nowimkrishan Thanks, Krishan! Our #1 goal is to help companies develop empathy for their customers by better understanding their experience. We agree that, while useful, charts aren't the best way to develop that empathy!
Great fan of your product, Scott. Though it was completely worth the money you charged, it sometimes felt expensive during the cost-cutting time.
I'm very much sure that with this move, you'll get lots of love and new customers of course.
Yup, to the better future.
This is so good! Only been using it for a couple of hours and already identified a bunch of things we need to improve on. Was actually cringing when I saw how users kept trying to do something but weren't able too.
@alex_flom Hey Alex! The biggest differences between free and paid is the monthly session allotment and the available features. You can see the specific feature differences by going to www.fullstory.com/pricing and toggling between the Free and Pro editions.
Regardless of which you ultimately land on, we've made sure that the Free version delivers a ton of value!
@alex_flom Rest assured, the essence of FullStory (hifi recording and playback, OmniSearch, segmentation, rage clicks, among other things) is available in Free. However, since Free is aimed at startups and small teams, there is a lower monthly session count, we've simplified the product by removing a few power-user features. Full comparison is available on our nifty new pricing page: https://fullstory.com/pricing. Hope that helps!
@thisdickie hey Sam! We don't currently have a plugin for these services but FullStory is as easy to install as Google Analytics. Theres some how to documentation for Squarespace specifically on our Knowledge Base - http://help.fullstory.com/integr...
@jordanslon Totally free. The 14-day trial is a trial of FullStory Pro so you can see all of FullStory's functionality. At the conclusion of the Pro trial, you can continue to use FullStory Free forever. Hope you give it a try!
