It's an innovative Japanese learning app powered by cutting-edge AI technology! With AI features specially designed for Japanese conversation, you can easily learn practical Japanese on the go.
"Learning Japanese is challenging."
As a native Japanese speaker, even I feel this way. So for foreigners currently studying Japanese, it must be even more difficult.
After all, opportunities to practice speaking are hard to come by. Online lessons can be expensive, and there's no guarantee the instructor will be a native speaker. Time constraints are also an issue.
To address these challenges, we've released a new app called Fujiyama.
Fujiyama not only allows you to chat in Japanese but also offers the following features:
- Voice conversations
- A diverse range of conversation partners
- Access to your conversation history at any time
- Conversation evaluation and scoring
- Instant saving of interesting phrases from your conversations, complete with example - sentences, explanations, and associated images
- AI assistance if you're unsure how to respond
- Adjustable voice output speed
- Practice writing katakana, hiragana, and kanji characters
These are the current features of our app.
Moving forward, we're eager to explore what additional functionalities and improvements are needed to make this an even better service for Japanese language learners.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on how we can further enhance the app to support those studying Japanese.
@toki_suzuki Learning japanese is not at all easy and duolingo is not as helpful as expected. I have always been fascinated by Japanese culture and language, will give it a try.
Congratulations on the launch of Fujiyama, Dewa gokigen'yō
@prad_vv Thank you for your kind words and interest!
You're absolutely right that learning Japanese isn't easy, and we've heard from many users that traditional apps like Duolingo don't always meet their needs. That's exactly why we created Fujiyama. We aim to provide a more engaging and effective way to improve practical Japanese communication skills.
Given your fascination with Japanese culture and language, we think you'll find Fujiyama particularly interesting. We've incorporated cultural elements into our conversation topics to help learners like you deepen their understanding of Japan while improving their language skills.
We'd be thrilled if you gave Fujiyama a try. Your feedback would be incredibly valuable as we continue to enhance the app. Together, we can create an even better Japanese learning experience.
Thank you for the congratulations on the launch of Fujiyama, and for the "Dewa gokigen'yō"! We look forward to seeing you on Fujiyama.
@owenfar Thank you for your congratulations and your thoughtful questions!
We've conducted extensive research on various language learning platforms, including Duolingo, to ensure Fujiyama offers unique and effective features. While we respect what other apps offer, we've focused on creating a more immersive and practical learning experience.
Regarding grammar progress and level assessment, Fujiyama provides:
1. Conversation evaluations after each session
2. Detailed feedback on grammar usage
3. A progress tracking system that shows your improvement over time
For writing skills, we offer:
1. Character practice for hiragana, katakana, and kanji
2. Writing exercises integrated into conversations
3. Instant feedback on written responses
To answer your specific question, "猫" (cat) is written as ねこ in hiragana, ネコ in katakana, and 猫 in kanji. Our app includes exercises to practice writing each of these forms.
We're continuously working to improve Fujiyama based on user feedback. We'd love for you to try it out and share your thoughts on how we can make it even better for learners like you.
Thank you for your encouragement. We'll keep working hard to provide the best Japanese learning experience possible!
@franckwebpro
Thank you so much for your enthusiastic feedback! We're thrilled to hear you find Fujiyama cool.
You're absolutely right - speaking practice is crucial for language learning, just as hands-on coding is essential for programming. We're glad you appreciate this aspect of our app.
Regarding your question about adding more languages: As a team deeply passionate about Japanese language and culture, we've made the decision to focus exclusively on Japanese. Our mission is to create the best possible platform for learning Japanese and experiencing Japanese culture.
We believe that by concentrating all our efforts on one language, we can offer a truly immersive and comprehensive learning experience. Our goal is not just to teach the language, but to be a gateway to understanding and appreciating the rich cultural context behind it.
Thank you again for your interest. We hope you'll enjoy using Fujiyama for your Japanese learning journey and discovering the depth of Japanese culture along the way!
I've been really disappointed with language learning apps lately, and Fujiyama seems to stand apart ! I didn't plan to learn japanese (yet) but this is promising, hope it will cover many other languages soon !
@brijs
Thank you so much for your kind words about Fujiyama! We're thrilled to hear that our app stands out to you among other language learning applications.
We completely understand your disappointment with some language learning apps. That's exactly why we've put so much effort into making Fujiyama unique and effective, focusing on practical communication skills and cultural immersion.
While we're honored that Fujiyama has caught your interest, we want to be transparent: our passion and focus is solely on the Japanese language and culture. We've made the decision to concentrate all our efforts on creating the best possible Japanese learning experience, rather than expanding to multiple languages.
We believe this dedicated approach allows us to offer a depth of learning and cultural understanding that wouldn't be possible if we spread our resources across multiple languages. Our goal is to be more than just a language app - we want to be a gateway to Japanese culture.
Even though you might not have planned to learn Japanese yet, we'd be delighted if Fujiyama inspires you to explore this beautiful language and rich culture. Who knows? You might discover a new passion!
Thank you again for your interest in Fujiyama. We hope our focus on quality and depth in Japanese learning continues to set us apart in the language learning app landscape.
@toki_suzuki
I fully understand that Fujiyama is focused solely on japanese languages and cultures, but I think it is a tremendous source of inspiration for new apps covering other languages. Love the cultural features though, congratulations again ! 🎉
Wow, it’s an exciting idea to make AI TTS into language learning process, and as the price of TTS API goes down, your product could be more and more profitable.
I appreciate the focus on practical Japanese conversation. The ability to practice in real-time with AI and receive instant feedback is a smart approach to language learning.
The integration of AI for conversation practice and writing help is impressive. It’s great to see a tool that makes learning Japanese more interactive and engaging.
Hey Toki,
How detailed is the feedback? Does it focus solely on grammar and vocabulary, or does it also consider things like natural phrasing and cultural context?
Congrats on the launch!
Congratulations on launching this innovative Japanese learning app! I'm really excited to see how AI technology is being leveraged for practical language learning.
I love the idea of having AI features specifically designed for Japanese conversation; it sounds like a game-changer for on-the-go learners. The focus on practical usage is something that is often missing in language apps, so this could really fill a gap in the market.
Have you considered incorporating gamification elements to make the learning process even more engaging? Also, it would be great to know if there are plans for collaborative features where users can practice together. Keep up the fantastic work—I'm looking forward to seeing how this evolves!
@allen_xu1130
Thank you so much for your enthusiastic response and congratulations! We're thrilled to hear that you're excited about Fujiyama's innovative approach to Japanese learning.
You've perfectly captured our vision - leveraging AI technology to create a practical, conversation-focused learning experience. We believe this approach can indeed be a game-changer, especially for busy learners who need flexibility in their studies.
Your suggestion about gamification is spot on and aligns perfectly with our future plans. We're currently exploring various gamification elements to make the learning process even more engaging and motivating. Ideas like achievement badges, level-up systems, and daily challenges are all on our radar. We believe these features can significantly enhance user engagement and make the learning journey more enjoyable.
Regarding collaborative features, that's an excellent point! While our current focus is on perfecting the AI-driven conversation practice, we're definitely interested in incorporating peer-to-peer learning in the future. We're considering features like language exchange matching, group challenges, and even a community forum where users can share their learning experiences and tips.
We're constantly working to evolve and improve Fujiyama based on user feedback and the latest developments in AI and language learning pedagogy. Your encouragement and suggestions mean a lot to us, and they help shape the future of our app.
Thank you again for your support and insightful comments. We're excited to have you on this journey with us as we continue to develop and refine Fujiyama. Stay tuned for updates!
It would be great if there was a way to customize the difficulty level of conversation, s beginners and advanced learners could tailor their experience.
@donald_hayes
Thank you for your valuable input. We really appreciate you highlighting the importance of customizable conversation difficulty levels.
I'm happy to inform you that this feature is already implemented in Fujiyama. Currently, users can set the conversation difficulty according to the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) levels, ranging from N1 to N5.
This allows us to cater to learners from beginners to advanced levels, providing an optimal learning experience tailored to each user's Japanese proficiency. Here's a brief overview:
- N5: For those just starting to learn basic Japanese
- N4: For those who can understand basic Japanese
- N3: For those who can understand Japanese used in everyday situations to some extent
- N2: For those who can understand Japanese used in a broad range of situations
- N1: For those who can understand Japanese used in a wide variety of circumstances
Users can select the difficulty level that matches their current proficiency and gradually level up as they improve.
We would love to hear your feedback on this feature or any ideas for further improvements. Your opinions are crucial in making Fujiyama an even more effective and user-friendly tool for learning Japanese.
@zackary_mooney
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We truly appreciate your observation that the AI teacher's feedback feels a bit too general, and your desire for more personalized advice based on your progress.
Enhancing the learning experience for each individual user is one of our top priorities. The point you've raised is indeed one of the challenges we're currently addressing. To provide more individualized feedback and advice, we're working on the following improvements:
1. Enhanced learning history analysis:
We're refining our AI algorithms to analyze users' learning patterns, strengths, and weaknesses in more detail, allowing us to provide advice based on these insights.
2. More precise progress tracking:
We're developing ways to track progress more finely across various aspects such as grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, enabling us to offer specific feedback for each area.
3. Setting personalized learning goals:
We're developing a feature to suggest more concrete short-term and long-term learning goals based on the user's current level and objectives, and to provide advice tailored to these goals.
4. Utilizing user input:
We're preparing to more actively collect information about users' interests and learning purposes, and to reflect this in our advice.
We believe these improvements will allow us to provide more personal and specific feedback and advice.
Specific feedback like what you've provided is extremely helpful for improving our service. Please continue to share your thoughts with us. We want to work together with our users to keep making Fujiyama better.
This sounds really promising, especially with the voice conversations and diverse partners! I'd love to know how the conversation evaluation and scoring work. Are they tailored to different skill levels? Also, any plans for a community feature where learners can connect with each other? Curious about @toki_suzuki's vision for the roadmap too!
@lambert1998
Thank you for your enthusiastic feedback and questions! We're thrilled to hear that you have high expectations for Fujiyama.
Our conversation evaluation and scoring system is designed to be comprehensive and adaptable to different skill levels. Currently, our system evaluates various aspects of the conversation:
1. Grammatical accuracy: We check whether the grammar used is appropriate for the context and the user's current level.
2. Conversation flow: We assess whether the responses are natural and relevant to the ongoing dialogue.
3. Vocabulary usage: We evaluate the appropriateness and variety of vocabulary used.
The evaluation is indeed tailored to different skill levels, aligning with the JLPT levels (N5 to N1) that users can select. This ensures that learners receive feedback that's relevant to their current proficiency and learning goals.
We're excited to announce that a feature allowing learners to connect with each other is currently under development! We recognize the value of peer support and the motivation that comes from interacting with fellow language learners. This feature will enable users to share experiences, practice together, and even participate in language exchanges.
Regarding our roadmap, it's currently being developed. While we can't provide specific details at this time, we are committed to continuously enhancing Fujiyama based on user feedback and the latest developments in language learning technology.
We're always eager to hear from our users about features they'd like to see in future updates. Your input helps shape the future of Fujiyama, so please continue to share your thoughts and ideas with us!
Thank you again for your interest in Fujiyama. We're excited to be on this language learning journey with you!
