When I was in middle school, everyone would get on AIM right after class ~3:30pm to chat. Admittedly, I used to register usernames that looked very similar to my friends' to impersonate them with others at my school. Good times.
I miss it a lot. The away message would eventually give birth to the Tweet (status update) that we all know today. AIM holds a special place in my Internet heart because it produced what would later become my Twitter handle: Torbahax. Ah, the 5th grade.
