FlowCV is literally perfect. It was very good since the beginning, and now the developers have added all the features that were initially missing (like the ability to create multiple Resumes.)
As if it wasnβt enough to offer a functional website that lets people create beautiful Resumes, FlowCV also offers tips to ensure that the created CV isnβt just pretty, but also more likely to help the user achieve their goal (getting the job they want)!
Congrats Alexander! I've been testing Flow CV a while ago - the editor is super-nice, it's *actually* fun to create your CV :) In fact, this is the first time in over 10+ years I've updated my own CV, so thanks for providing this great service!
Hi again fellow hunters π
We've been hard at work during the past 7 months to ship some major, heavily requested updates.
Most importantly, we've incorporated a lot of your feedback after launching on Product Hunt back in April.
We continue to offer FlowCV entirely for free to make great resumes as accessible as possible. If you like the service, we would appreciate a donation via Stripe or PayPal. In the future, we also plan to offer some exciting premium add-ons to make applying for your dream job even easier, so stay tuned π
In the meantime, we are excited to hear your opinion β what do you think of the additions? What would you like to see next? π
@alxjpzmn You built a product that's almost exactly what's in my idea book... but for a completely different use and market. Mind if I reach out to you in a few days when the product hunt dust settles to ask a couple of quick questions?
Very sleek site; clear value add too. I made some more comments in-context here https://app.usebubbles.com/564ac... -- especially re the pricing. Users don't mind paying if you provide a good service. In this case I'd prefer if you do charge.
@tom4 Wow, thanks Tom, this is super helpful! π Regarding our business model: we want to offer premium services in the future, the resume will stay free however since we believe most people wouldn't want to enter into a subscription for a resume builder alone.
I have so many CV builders bookmarked/upvoted, but FlowCV has left such a good impression on me that I may not even bother looking at the others. Really simple yet thoughtful. Looking forward to seeing this product's improvements and evolution!
@brian_chou Hi Brian, thanks for the kudosπI will reply shortly to your feedback per email - but already thanks a lot for those improvement suggestions! We really strive to build the best resume builder out there and try to fullfill as many user requests/ideas as possible, while keeping the UX straight forwardπ
@masoudardestani We try to have every template super easily customisable though to enable everybody to express themselves without effort β but of course, we are still within the boundaries of a resume format, so I get your point...stay tuned then π
I think this product is extremely awesome! I would like to know if there are certain types of CVs that get more attention and also get tips on what I could do to improve my resume. Thanks for this
@felipe_otalora Hi Felipe, very cool question!π Truth be told, we need to do more research to answer which resumes get more attention β and we will. I think it will probably also depend on the taste of the recruiter. Regarding feedback β this is definitely something we we will look into more, how we could connect you easily with professional recruiters & reduce potential errors before you even make them.
What a great product! The price is absolutely right... people who are searching for a job won't want to spend money on a resume tool. Once you have a job, you don't want to pay a subscription service. There'll be lots of great ways to monetize the community. This is a tool I'll be recommending!
@pauldoerwald Thanks for the great feedback! :)) We agree a 100% with regards to pricing and do believe that subscriptions for resumes are just not aligned with the incentives of our users.
We want them to get their dream job as quickly and easily as possible, which by definition would result in them paying for a subscription they don't need anymore if we succeed in our mission. And if we fail (meaning users would be applying to jobs for a longer period) the subscription would make sense from a pure pricing point of view, but we ultimately would have let them down. Both are outcomes we simply can't stand behind, it is very much a passion project after all :)
Congratulations to the ?makers. This is hands down one of the best products I have used to up-skill my resume. You have no idea how big of an impact this has in the start of my career. I am just a student, but let me know if there is any way I can support this awesome initiative!
Kudos again :D
Seen a lot of those CV Makers, but this one is by far the nicest one. Love the individual settings and the tips for each sections leaved me stunned. The transalation in german worked well and i did not have the feeling that it was translated in the first place. Great work!
Absolutely loving this so far! My only feedback is that adding dates to professional experience takes up a lot of important room on the left side of the page. Worked around this by adding dates in the description line, but an option to put the dates on the same line and on the right side would be awesome.
@ryan_donk Hi Ryan, thanks for your feedback! π You can actually do that by that going to "Design" - "Layout" - "Options" and then choose e.g. the fourth one, which puts the date on the same line as the company title π
A perfect product guys, I'm very impressed. Hope you make your first $1M on people who are just inviting you for a coffee. One note though: if somebody already made their donation for your coffee, maybe you should skip the mandatory offer screen to pay one more time until they want to pay again :-) (but I'm not sure)
Wow, wonderful product! Love it so much. In my experience, better than other websites because it's super easy to get started: (a) No signup required (b) Super friendly UI/UX. It's ridiculously simple to use, and it works smoothly. Also very appealing visually.
In addition, I like that there are many options to chose from, and the fact that it's based on donations rather than a one-off or subscription payment makes it perfect.
Great work!
@alxjpzmn Really great tool for resume building. It's very user friendly too. In current times, when everyone is actively looking for job, sending same resume for every job reduces the possibility of getting the job, but with Flow CV i can tweak or update my resume as the job description. Awesome Productπ
@mguida Hi Michael, thanks a lot for your comment, donation, feedback & tweet!!πWe really celebrated your tweet β you are amazing man! It's for people like you we enjoy sitting down on weekends to make the app better. Thanks!
I have been using flowcv for about 4 months and it makes my life easy. No need searching emails for resume copies when I can log in from anywhere and download or share my resume.
Such an intuitive way to build awesome CVs. I used to make mine in Adobe InDesign, because frankly Word isn't made for creating modern CVs, now creating and updating CVs takes a quarter of the time and they look just as good. Okay, who am I kidding. They look better.
@dan_crewger Hi Dan, thanks a lot for your comment!πWe couldn't agree more! Word allows for full flexibility, but it is very hard to create documents that have a nice visual hierachy and clean alignment of elements.. nobody really ever wants to use tabstopsπ
Looks great! I bet you could sell this to staffing/recruiting firms. They take resumes, rip off the names, and reformat them into their preferred format to submit to clients. Keep it up great work!
@riptidechad Hi Chad, thanks a lot for the kind feedback! π We plan on offering premium services related to resumes since we don't sell user data, so stay tuned for more good stuff to come π
