@rrhoover Interestingly a large segment of our users have been sales teams and folks using it in customer facing conversations. Those are also the teams that tend to adopt it more widely inside their orgs. Right now, there are several good sales enablement tools out on the market. Our primary goal for this launch was to showcase the workflow and sales automation capabilities that reps themselves use. That's been our forte in the past year. We are doing more custom offerings for sales and support teams as well on a team by team basis that need enablement capabilities :) Fundamentally, there is a lot of different ways to slice and dice conversational data. Excited to see all the use cases starting to open up now!
We tried using Voicera to take notes for us and it was a total flop. The transcription was… alright, I guess. I mean, how good is Siri? And then how good is Siri over a poor connection, or when multiple people are talking, or just when you aren't annunciating. Every. Single. Word.
And then even if you did have an accurate transcription, that doesn't get you too far. A half-decent PM won't transcribe everything — they'll pull out the salient points, the action items and assignments, the decisions, the open issues, etc.
So while I'd LOVE this to be a real thing, it's hard to be convinced we're there yet. The future will, however and as always, be neat.
This looks like a great tool - thanks for sharing it here @krish_ramineni - what format does the recording need to be in for it to be transcribed and can we also upload videos or is that in the pipeline?
I am guessing that recordings can be deleted?
How can we share a transcript for example within a team and not allow others to edit it?
And the page where the transcript is is not indexed in Google?
And what about downloading if we want to keep a record?

Fireflies plugs into your Google calendar and can join meetings for a plethora of web-conferencing platforms like Zoom, Webex, Google Meet, GoToMeeting and more.
You can even invite fred@fireflies.ai to your meetings or upload previously recorded audio files to our platform to be transcribed. Once a meeting is processed you can create notes, listen to the call, read the transcript and search the call inside our dashboard.
We’ve spent the past year and a half fine-tuning the system and getting Fireflies into thousands of meetings. Today, we are proud to share our platform publicly with you all. Great product, I have been working with audio processing app in past. I know the complexity of this system. Great job team.
Is it possible to record the note or upload any recording to get transcription and can manage it?
Also, the mobile application will be available in near future? I do some meeting via tablet or mobile.

hi @nishchit_dhanani thanks! let's see if I can answer all parts of your questions:
1. You can upload pre-recorded files into our system and get the transcript
2. If you have upcoming web-conferencing meetings on your calendar, you can invite fred@fireflies.ai to join the call, record those meetings, and transcribe it automatically for you.
3. Mobile app is potentially in the pipeline (yes) if you need a way to get a transcription of an in person meeting you can have Fireflies call your cell number or record the call using your device and then later upload it to Fireflies :)
@sudotong @fireflies @shreyaa_ratra just want to clarify do you mean having our own team do outbound sales to sell Fireflies? We have a handful of customers doing outbound sales using Fireflies on their calls 😄

I participated in an incubator with FireFlies last year and it is great to see this product grow. Both of their founders are extremely passionate and talented. I firmly believe that this product will be a staple for any sales team that uses a CRM at any scale.

I've been using sonix.ai to transcribe interview recordings, but find the quality unpredictable. A couple of the uploads have generated great transcripts that only need light editing, but some are unusable.
How does Fireflies compare in terms of transcript quality?
@paulmckeever given good audio quality we are able to perform quite well (90%+) in most cases. Here is an actual live call sample that you can refer to, review the transcript, and listen to the audio. https://app.fireflies.ai/view/de...
There will always be some external variables that will be hard to control like background noise, thick accents, and people talking over each other. We optimize for most call settings. The thing to note especially is when you've had a 100 calls, people are willing to take 90% over perfect transcription when there is a 10x cost difference if you're having to hire human transcribers :)
I honestly wish I had found out about this product earlier because these guys are really on to something. I can now focus on my calls and leave the note taking to the AI, and the best part is, the call notes always end up in the correct salesforce record!

It never asks permission from the meeting owner, anyone invited can invite fireflies. Big privacy concern, Is there a way to auto ban/block this from meetings?

This product is super intuitive to use and has the highest transcription quality I've seen yet. I highly recommend it to anyone who takes more than a few meetings per week and has a hard time remembering all the details/action items from their calls. Great job guys!
Hi @fllorencekwok thank you!! It's been a long journey to get the transcription quality to where it is today. We started off almost a year and a half ago with very expensive and slow transcription. But we've made strides and bounds in being able to offer a fully automated service, using recent advances in natural language processing. Today, we're continuing tot improve transcription by customizing the vocabulary with keywords, phrases and terminology specific to each user.
@sudotong @krish_ramineni Awesome! I started using this product just 7 months ago and the quality has improved a lot since then. Great to see how far you've come in just that short amount of time.
Also, I frequently meet with international teams and I'd like to roll this out to their regions. I'm curious about whether or not Fireflies allows transcription in other languages?
@fllorencekwok We've listened and doubled down on what you and everyone was saying back then, thanks this means a lot!
Right now we're only focusing on English. We support accents, but the stronger the accent the lower quality the summary and transcript will be. For high quality notes, just make sure that there is minimal background noise, speakers aren't interrupting each other frequently, and microphone accurately captures your audio. Our service is 100% automated :)

The question we are really interested in enabling and answering is: What happens when all of your important conversations are transcribed and stored efficiently? We believe that this database can become a source of product improvement, sales training, recruiting standards, and many other valuable things. We're excited to keep driving towards making this easy to access.
Hey guys we've gotten a few questions as we've helped users onboard that I wanted to share here as well:
1. Fireflies currently supports the English language today. We will do other languages in the future
2. Fireflies can dial into a host of web-conferencing platforms like Zoom, Webex, Google Meet, Uberconference, GoToMeeting, Ringcentral, Skype for Business, etc
3.When you are including the dial in number on the platform Fireflies can only parse US Dial-in numbers and pins. Most web-conferencing platforms have a US dial in number.
4. Fireflies will send out a summary within 30 mins. It takes some time to process. You will get an email notification from fred@fireflies.ai with a link once your meeting is ready.
Watched product evolve over time. I requested the old recording feature and they built it - awesome when companies prioritize their users like that. So excited for all of us to spend more time working on what matters and not the minutia

Awesome to here that the call upload feature has been a huge value add for you! I can imagine how many people record their calls or have recorded files just sitting there and need a fast way to transcribe, search, and save those convos :)

Got the chance to try Fireflies out a couple times and I was surprised with how easy it was to integrate into our flow. Basically you just need to make a Google cal event (which we do) and you're done! Having our meetings be searchable is a gamechanger, doubly so with remote team mates. Excited and curious to see what's next for Fireflies.

Thanks for the candid feedback -- while building this we really prioritized making it fit seamlessly into custom workflows. We provide users with full control: upload files & invite it to meetings whenever you like. Likewise, we provide the ability to tell Fireflies tot auto-join any new calendar events with a dial-in number. That way, it's less overhead thinking, and Fireflies can capture the important moments from every meeting.
Extremely helpful if you want to systematically improve on sales calls.

I’ve used Fireflies many times to help automate my conversations—meetings, reminders, etc.—this product is the future of note taking—it has cut my time spent making laundry lists and greatly enhanced productivity elsewhere by using my time spent otherwise note taking and investing it elsewhere.
