Great job @luigi_calisi! Fing Agent sounds like a fantastic solution for anyone looking to enhance their home network security. The mobile app integration and real-time alerts especially caught my attention. Looking forward to testing it out!
Exciting launch, @luigi_calisi! Fing Agent looks like a game changer for network management. The mobile app integration and 24/7 monitoring features are especially impressive. Can't wait to try it out! Upvoted!
This sounds interesting, @luigi_calisi! I'm curious about the level of customizability in the mobile app integration. Can we tailor alerts or notifications based on specific devices or network conditions? Also, how does the event timeline feature help in diagnosing connectivity issues? Looking forward to learning more!
@renchu_song Thanks for your interest in our product! The mobile app integration provides a degree of customization. For instance, you can decide whether to enable alerts for specific devices when they go online or offline. Most users tend to monitor only their most important devices.
As for the event timeline, users often rely on it to see if any unknown devices have joined their network or to track when a particular device returned home. It's also a valuable tool for detecting internet outages or power blackouts, especially when you're away from home.
@j_m41 Thanks for your comment! Not at the moment, but we are looking for more solutions moving forward. Snapd was the easiest way for this first step we took in the Raspberry world.
Hey Luigi,
How user-friendly is it for those who might not be very tech-savvy?
Are there any plans to support other single-board computers beyond Raspberry Pi?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Thanks for your comment! Fing is designed with a user-friendly interface because we believe in making complex concepts accessible to everyone. Both IT professionals and casual users use our mobile and desktop apps. With Fing Agent, there might be a bit of a learning curve since it requires setup on a Raspberry Pi, which can be tricky for some. However, we provide detailed instructions in our knowledge base to guide users through the process.
Looking ahead, we plan to support more platforms. For example, we're currently testing Synology integration using a Docker image.
Got a Fingbox when they first launched and the app and tools are so useful. Having the agent available on Raspberry Pi hardware makes it even more useful. Thanks again for making awesome.
The ability to get notification and manage network setting remotely sounds like a huge convenience. I appreciate the detailed setup guide, with makes it easy to get started.
Excellent product . 👌
It helped me to solve many issues .
kindly add two things for more productivity:
1- Esc button to exit any active window in Fing app.
2- enable Dark mode for Fing app
thank you ✔
I appreciate how this makes securing and optimizing my home network so effortless. It’s a must-have for anyone who wants peace of mind about their Wi-Fi.
The continuous monitoring and control features seem perfect for ensuring network reliability. It’s impressive how it turns a Raspberry Pi into a powerful network management unit
@amalio_lanter Thank you for the comment! Raspberry Pi itself is an impressive piece of hardware. We are also exploring other environments for future developments (starting from Synology NAS)
Hey this looks great! Never really seen anything like it before, in a simple app available to the public. Could have lots of business applications here. Looking forward to trying it out.
@dror_wayne Thank you! We're excited to hear that you see the potential. We envision Fing Agent being especially valuable for small businesses and home offices. It’s designed to provide powerful tools in a simple app, making it accessible to users without requiring a dedicated IT department. We're looking forward to your feedback once you try it out!
To keep their network secure and monitored for us it's a great tool. Turning a Raspberry Pi into a 24/7 monitoring unit is a smart move. Congratulations on the launch.
I'm really impressed by how this integrate with a Raspberry Pi to offer continuous monitoring. It’s also fantastic that it allows you to manage network access and get notifications on the go.
I have been using Free Fing software for network monitoring a few years, running in the back in the background, very good protection and tracking connections to your network,
