Img import that breaks down the image.

I would love to be able to do this:

-take a screen shot of a page (check)

-paste it into figma (check)

-click a button that makes "components" out of the obvious things on the page, like buttons, text, etc.
-do some editing of the text, change some colors, etc.

is there a plugin or a setting i'm missing that makes this easy? I haven't found anything with some cursory searching.

I am a total figma noob, so it's possible this is really easy and I'm just missing something obvious.

I've heard about Codia AI design plugin for Figma but personally haven't tried it yet. Maybe it'll be useful for you

We make a Figma plugin called html.to.design.

You can give it an URL or use our Chrome extension.

We have been working on it for almost 3 years now.

You can have autolayout, components, links between pages and all sort of very fine details 👍

It's FREE up to 10 imports per month.

We have more things coming up soon!

Kind regards,

Georges

Maybe time to start coding that tool if it is not on the market :D But would welcome something like that too :D

@busmark_w_nika yeah I actually said to my partner "if this doesnt exist we are going to drop everything and build it!"

Look into MCP for figma. It will blwo your mind.

Matt Carroll

@sentry_co this is a nice callout. i've been following MCP, makes a ton of sense that it would exist for figma now!

I make a plugin called Screenshot to Layout. It only does text at the moment, but I am looking to develop it further to do what you propose.
