Has anyone tried Figma’s new feature - Buzz yet? 🧐
I started using Buzz today to create my social media assets—here are my first impressions:
• The templates are gorgeous. I’m spending more time choosing than actually designing.
• The CMS is super intuitive—honestly feels like a must-have for any marketer.
• It’s way faster than designing social content in the regular Figma design mode.

Still exploring, but I’d love to hear what others think. Any hidden tips or tricks you’ve discovered?

Just tested it yesterday. I like the concept and appreciate a lot the ideas they are playing around with (way better in principle than canvas for my needs), tho there are still some bugs that blocks me by using it in my organisation.
Bugs:
The 1st one is a bug with the export function, which exports blank images (Sometimes it works whenI have an empty template below it)
Other issue is the logic of text props. They have two systems right now (one in the symbols and one unique to the buzz UI)
I am definitely going to use it for our marketing materials (Social media and mockup generation) once it is more mature.

@marco_luthi Wow, you tested it so thoroughly!
I also think this is definitely a feature that’s going to challenge Canvas.
And now that Canvas just launched its own coding-based site builder, it’s clear that a direct competition between Figma and Canvas is heating up.

@marco_luthi thanks for sharing these, will dig into them with the team today!

@marco_luthi Hi there! Amy from the Figma Buzz team here.
1. i'm not able to repro the export issue. are you able to share your file with me? (azhong@figma.com)
2. can you explain a bit more of what you mean here? do you mean there's text styles from your library and then buzz provided ones?
thank you for trying out buzz!!!
@ameszhong
Hi Amy
Thanks for reaching out
Sending you the file today. It might be that I am trying to use a complex symbol from a different Library and buzz is not able to handle it.
I mean the text values. In Figma Classic (What's it called now?) you are able to set up text props in a symbol to parse values into the design. In Buzz there is now a new text prop tab in the side bar (Second last one and it appears and sometimes doesn't) where the user is able to fill out all values for all the text – it's just weird to me to have two systems (I setup a symbol with specific props and would love to use it that way).
It might very well be user error (Did not use a tutorial and just jumped into it 😅) and I appreciate the new features you've made

Is this a new native plugin in Figma? If yes, I should install the update. 😅
I have always used Figma community templates, but I would also wish to have the option to have a "creators' program" – in the sense of "prepare some template" and get paid. And maybe it exists, but I missed it somehow.

@busmark_w_nika Hi Nika, this was just announced yesterday at Config—it's a new native Figma feature, and it's super useful especially for marketers. 😊
As far as I know, most templates in the Figma Community are still free, though some third-party plugins do charge.
And I love your idea about a creators' program where people can get paid for templates—that would be amazing!

I'm totally overwhelmed and have not tried anything 😅
Do you notice any lock-in? I built a site in Framer before, just a fun side project and end up paying some monthly fee just because it's in framer..so that put me off the website builders
Trickle
@graeme_fulton Oh I think you're referring to Figma Make — it's part of the new "vibe coding" style of website builders and is basically positioned as a Framer alternative.
It hasn’t opened for public testing yet though! From what I’ve seen, the pricing will likely involve a paid plan as well.
Prototypr
@victoria_wu ahhh you're right, so Buzz is also part of Figma, but for social media?
Trickle
@graeme_fulton Exactly!

I think this year's Figma conference was more sincere than previous releases, although I haven't used it extensively yet, perhaps because I'm not the type of person who needs to use new features frequently.
Trickle
@hi_caicai Yeah, totally. Figma is under a lot of pressure this year with all the new AI design tools popping up—it makes sense they'd come across more sincere.

You can also use AI and the plugins with the designs. It makes it more powerful. Example using the same designs and using the @Jitter plugin for animating your designs.
Trickle
@divjpatel Yeah, I used to be a loyal paying user of Jitter. Really solid product!
I haven't tried it yet, but from what you described, the templates and the intuitive CMS sound really appealing. I'm interested in seeing how it performs for more complex social media campaigns. Maybe it could benefit from having more customizable options for the templates. I'll definitely give it a try soon!
