The Figma Community is a public space for people to connect around design. Create a profile and publish your live design files to the world. Because Figma is free and on the web, anyone with a computer can inspect, remix, and learn from your work.
This is a great idea and, like many of the things Figma has done, I'd be shocked if it didn't lead to a new wave of innovation and collaboration within the broader design community.
This is brilliant, I'm really excited to see where this goes! I remember seeing Layervault (the original co behind Designer News) try to make this happen 5ish years ago along with several others and it didn't seem like anyone could find the right formula. Makes so much sense for Figma, since it can be integrated into the tool itself. I hope this encourages more collaboration and iteration in the design world.
Super excited for y'all at Figma! @farooqib – I'm super excited to see how the community uses their own profiles to learn + teach + remix. Have you seen any amazing use cases yet that you didn't expect?
Super-cool update! It's so exciting to see more and more tools available "founder-designing"...i.e. as a founder not trained per se in design but picked it up out of necessity.
Saludos :)
@icaroharry To set a username and get access to publishing, you'll first need to sign up for the beta. :) (the link can be found near the bottom of the blog post)
This release opens up so many possibilities for designers. Figma community may finally bring the momentum of open source to design that the development community has had for quite some time now.
@farooqib – I requested to join the beta... Are there any details you can share about the types of files you are looking for with those requests? Thanks and congrats on a wonderful product and launch!
Hey Product Hunt, I’m Badrul Farooqi, one of the Product Managers who worked on the Figma Community. Design is playing an increasingly significant role in product development, and more people across an organization are touching it (marketers, engineers, PMs, etc). We’re seeing a big shift towards open design which is really exciting.
With this launch we wanted to make it easier for people pool information and resources around design. We’re launching it in beta initially because we want to develop this in tandem with the community, and take your feedback and perspective into account. We see this as the next big chapter for Figma (and hopefully for design!), so we’re excited to get your thoughts. I’ll be answering questions here all day, so lmk what’s on your mind!
@farooqib Started to use figma recently - the live view on mobile devices is really cool and that new feature seems to go into the right direction of collaborative work of the future.
Maybe your team could have a look at the figma mirror on android. The performance of transitions is sometimes nearly unusable on my phones. On my desktop everything runs smoothly.
When comment notification comes via email, clicking it, I want to open desktop Figma app and not the online version. Online takes too much power and doesn’t work for me.
I know it is possible but I don’t know how to change it.
Hello! I have returned to you with success to date in my fan video about Figma. I understand that everyone has been looking forward to the final result for a long time, but everything has its time, at this stage I managed to work with examples and create a visual picture and animation of the future video. Now I'm working on the color scheme and the correct arrangement of light in the frames. Have a little patience and you'll see everything soon.
You can see the results of my work here: https://teletype.in/@isaev_vasil...
And you can also subscribe to @vasilisaiev on me and follow the work of the motion designer)) I will be glad to see everyone at my insta
Hello friends, can I ask some questions about Figma to better understand those who already use it? I am interested in opinions, both positive and negative, this broadens its capabilities in my opinion, I understand that you can look through a bunch of reviews, tips, advice, but what is important for me is the opinion of the community, the people who directly use it.
I want to know the opinion because I want to create a 3D motion video about figma, not for commerce but for fans of this program, who has seen examples of Microsoft motion? that's what I want to do about figma, and for this I need to understand what people love more about figma. can what features are. I think that in chats from real people it is best to learn these feelings
I just ask you to support me and help in the study of opinions, I understand that I can strain with my questions, but imagine then when everything is ready I will show it in the chat itself and when I post, I will definitely refer to the communities that helped me
Wow, I feel blessed to be able to use Figma and different joints of it such as Community. I really stand behind Figma's and Dylan Field's vision. It's great to see how they constantly changing the game.
