Fellow.app — Meeting agendas, action items, & feedback– all in one place!

Hi Product Hunt, I’m Aydin 👋 Today, I’m incredibly proud and excited to introduce a product that we’ve been working on for the past 2 years. We’re calling it Fellow and it’s a manager’s co-pilot — a toolkit for managers & their teams to power 1-on-1s, team meetings, feedback, goals and more. 👩‍💻👨‍💻 Who’s on Fellow? We’ve been in private beta with 10,000+ users at companies like Shopify, Keep Truckin, SurveyMonkey and more. We’re finally opening up Fellow to everyone and couldn’t think of a better community to start with. 📖 A bit of a personal story: Before creating Fellow, we were the co-founders of Fluidware, a company we bootstrapped to just under 100 in staff before it was acquired by SurveyMonkey 🐵. We started that journey as individual contributors and then became managers – and eventually… managers of managers! Like many startup folks, we benefited and learned from software for every aspect of our business, from sales to marketing, to customer success. However, as our number of direct reports grew, we always wondered: Why isn’t there a great app for managers of people?!? When sales and marketing professionals are hired, they get access to tools like Salesforce, Hubspot, and Marketo. Fellow.app would be the equivalent tool for team leaders 👌. With this idea in mind, we interviewed industry experts and learned from the best coaches to determine the traits and practices that make someone a great leader. In the end, we built our learnings into Fellow: an app that empowers managers to have more effective meetings, set clear goals, and exchange ongoing feedback! If you lead a team, Fellow is the co-pilot that you’ve been waiting for :) ✈️ ✨ What makes Fellow special? Fellow is the first tool of its kind built from the lense of the manager focused on managing people. We wanted to build a lightweight tool that required no training and focused on a pleasant minimalistic experience. No bloat. Just the essentials. ...oh, and it integrates with the tools you already use like Calendar and Slack! 🔌 😻 We’d love to hear your feedback! When I was running a much larger team at IBM this would have been a dream come true. No joke, we used to keep books, physical books, on each staff to try and track and remember growth plans! It looks like this is a big and interesting market space as well, could you expand on any roadmap items you have coming to help managers even more?

I use Fellow every morning to plan 1:1s with both my directs and upcoming “skip-level” meetings. It has taught me how to be a more consistent manager / leader.

Fellow has been a Terrific experience so far. Previously, I had been using a mix of Notion, Trello and Google calendar to manage one-on-ones, and it quickly became unmanageable with 10 direct reports. Fellow.app has been really refreshing. I would highly recommend giving it a shot if you run a lot of one-on-ones.

Outside of 1 on 1's, we also run all of our team meetings using Fellow to ensure that our agenda and action items recieve the proper attention and engagement. It's been a real difference maker for us in driving behaviour changes amongst managers and colleagues. Our mantra now is that if a conversation topic isn't in Fellow, it doesn't exist.

Love this product! I use it daily as a Manager and can’t get enough of it. My favorite feature is the ability to assign action items during meetings!

I have used Fellow for both OneEleven and FreshFounders. It is such a great tool for managing teams and staying organized. I would have loved to have had it for my first few companies! Don't know how I could manage without it now... Meetings are so much more effective with collaborative and defined agendas, convenient minutes and, most importantly, great outcome tracking through assigned tasks. It really makes the meetings productive and holds everyone (including me!) accountable. One great example of the value is that when I went on a vacation last February and was away for two exec team meetings, I was able to 'get up to speed' in minutes by simply reading the notes from the missed meetings. An invaluable tool. Great work Fellow.app team!

As an early user I was using Fellow for one-on-one and follow ups. Now its fully integrated across the whole team using fellow as meeting agenda, follow ups, tracking, 1:1, reminders.... using Fellow as much as slack (the great integration into slack is awesome).

For several months I've been using Fellow.app at work every day. I love having a single place to go to access & edit all of my meeting agendas - 1:1 meetings as well as group meetings - and knowing that everyone else in the company has the same. Rather than having to create & share a new doc for each new meeting agenda, everyone in the company now knows to just go to Fellow, and the agenda for every meeting is there, organized by person and by date & time. Fellow syncs with Google Calendar, so agendas for all meetings are automatically in Fellow, and all agendas are linked to from their Google Calendar event. Highly recommended!

I think I am addicted and use the product almost daily. This fantastic product has brought order to my 1:1's and meetings. With a full history of notes for all our meetings, the team can easily stay on the same page and follow how we are trending over time. Meetings are more productive and go deeper thanks to everyone contributing in Fellow ahead of time. The slack integration is next level and is changing how I want to build new products. Thanks again for your great product and best of luck on your launch. Bonus points for the extremely supportive staff who are always willing to help via the in product chat (Shout out to Ally).

Fellow is truly a game changer. I've never seen a product spread so quickly in an organization with so much love for it. People have really embraced Fellow because of how easy it is to use, the design is solid and really doesn't restrict how individuals want to set up their 1:1s or meetings while making it easy to keep track of the important comments and action items that come out each meeting. Prior to Fellow we were living out of Google Docs and had tried Trello, Asana and Jira for our 1:1s. Fellow is as easy to use as a Google Doc but makes coordinating Action Items and Talking Points across multiple 1:1's, Meeting, Syncs and Stand Ups super easy. I feel like I have more time in my day when I'm using Fellow and I live with a lot less stress knowing that I'm not letting anything slip through the cracks. I've never fallen in love with a product so quickly!

I've been using Fellow for over a year now and it's become an integral part of my routine. I can't remember what I did before in terms of organizing my 1:1's with staff, but whatever it was, it didn't work as well. This simple interface is always ready as one of my browser windows for me to log the various thoughts and issues I need to chat with my team about. The ultimate holding pen, with history, action items and shared content. The Slack integration and reminders are also great.

Finally! A product that will help us manage the likes of our 125+ team members! Managing performance expectations of a team of this size, in different cities around the world, has its challenges when it comes to consistently delivering a clear message, effectively communicating goals, and closing the feedback loop. Having team members actively involved is also a huge plus to culture and satisfaction. Kudos! Looking forward to diving in.

Been using Fellow.app for a while now. It quickly made its way into an app that I open and use everyday. I’ve been able to replace multiple productivity apps with Fellow and the continual incorporation of user feedback into the product makes it even better as it evolves. I didn’t realize I needed this tool until I started using it. My meetings are more organized, my 1:1s are more valuable and my day is more intentional. Highly recommend you give it at try!

I have been an enthusiastic user of this from the beginning. I view it as an essential part of my Management OS. Simply put, you need this.

We use Fellow for all our 1:1s and full team meetings. It keeps us accountable - you can see on the home screen exactly which action items from your last meeting are still outstanding and it’s trained us to be more focused in our meetings.

Anything that helps managers break out of the tyranny of the email and streamline the various demands on our time is sorely needed.

You're right that managers are missing their own toolset to ensure they follow best practices and stay disciplined.
