Hello everyone, Feather is a blogging platform that uses Notion as the CMS.
I created this platform a few years ago mainly to solve my own problem.
I write all my content in Notion, but when it's time to publish what I have written to my blog, it used to take me a lot of time. I had to export the content from Notion in markdown, add it to my CMS, reupload all the images, format everything properly, etc.
So I thought what if there was a way if I can automatically publish everything I have written to my blog. That's how Feather was born.
Feather turns your Notion docs to a professional and SEO-friendly blog. It takes care of everything about your blog. It automatically adds the proper canonical links, it adds the structured schema markup to all of the pages, it sets proper meta tags, etc. Everything related to technical SEO will be taken care of, by Feather. All you have to do is write your content on Notion, and it will be published to an SEO-friendly blog that lives on your own domain.
One other advantage of using Feather as a blogging platform is that it can be on a subfolder of your own domain. For example, if the marketing website (can be built with Carrd, Webflow, Framer, WordPress, Next.js, etc) of your business is at domain.com, then your feather blog can be at domain.com/blog. So you get all the SEO benefits that you get because of having your blog on the same root domain as the domain of your marketing website.
@pbteja1998 congratulations on the launch Bhanu.. been a long time user of Feather..use it for multiple blogs.. very happy with the product.. keep it up and all the best ๐
@pbteja1998 It was exciting to hear about Feather! Simplifying the blogging process with seamless Notion integration and automated SEO-friendly publishing is a game-changer. I can't wait to give it a try!
Sounds great to be able to use Feather as the blog subdomain of website builders. What do you think @keita_mitsuhashi_morph@kimihito_tanaka@rob_chap ?
If Feather exists for a while, what motivated you to share it on Product Hunt now? Or conversely, any reason why you did not launch it on PH before?
Congrats on your product and launch today!
@julienergan Hi Julien ๐
There is no specific reason on why I havenโt launched it on Product Hunt until now. I just kept postponing it to find the perfect time. But today I finally decided to just launch it.
Congrats on the launch @pbteja1998
Didn't know that this is the first launch of Feather on PH
Following your journey for almost a year now, you are truly an amazing builder
Waiting for SiteGPT Relaunch on PH :)
Congratulations for making Feather, it looks amazing! I blog on many different platforms, even self-host some content. Can I ask what justifies the price tag considering all the free alternatives that'll do for most?
Also, it's not clear to me what happens when someone reaches the limit. If they don't upgrade their plan, will their content be made unavailable?
@geri_mate Some real businesses are using Feather for their business blog. They trust Feather to take care of everything about their blog. They don't have to spend time maintaining it or making sure it stays up. They don't have to make sure all the SEO tags are properly setup or not. They can leave all that to Feather.
All they have to do is keep using Notion just like they would daily. The main selling point with Feather is that it uses Notion as the CMS. So you can invite your entire team to your Notion workspace, and they can all collaborate on the blog together. All the collaboration features are inbuilt into Feather, because it uses Notion as the CMS. They don't even have to login to Feather once they setup their blog. They can write, publish, and schedule their blog posts all from Notion itself.
Again, Feather may not be for everyone, given its price tag. But for the actual businesses who use Notion daily for their work, it's THE platform to use to host their blog.
@geri_mate Also forgot to mention: Nothing happens to your blog if you reach the limits. Your blog will still continue to function. I will just be reaching out to you manually asking you to upgrade.
Nice product.
I used to use Typedream for blogging.
How does this product compare in terms of advantages? The price seems to be almost $20 more per month.
What makes Feather amazing? More than anything else, itโs the founder, Bhanu.
He listens to his customers, he builds quickly, and heโs just a genuinely good guy.
Feather is powerful, and intuitive. Definitely try it out! It makes it much more enjoyable to write and maintain a blog.
@sotak I agree there are a number of blogging products, but if you use Notion and you are looking for a blog, it's definitely The ONE product for you to keep in mind. I maybe biased, but I really believe that it's the best blogging platform out there if you want to use Notion as the CMS. Having the ability to have your blog on a subfolder of the root domain is another thing that differentiates feather from other platforms.
@jgani Yes, that is in the plans. For now, you can use Beehiiv + Feather together if you want. You can just embed the Beehiiv form into your Feather blog.
@jgani No definite ETA yet. Why not use Feather + Beehiiv together until then? There is a way to use replace Feather's inbuilt form to collect emails with a form from other platforms. People have been using Feather with Convertkit, Mailchimp, Substack, Beehiiv, etc. Want to understand your usecase a little bit more.
Congratulations on the launch guys!! ๐๐
Writing valuable content is everyone's struggle these days, looks like feather is ready to give wings to ever blog writer.! ๐ ๐
All the best to whole team! ๐๐ป๐ชถ๐ซ
This is actually a really good idea, using Notion as the backend and Feather as the front end. It couldn't get any easier and user friendlier than this. Congratulations on your launch.
Iโm a long time user of Feather and use it for my cloak.ist/blog and sotion.so/blog.
It's an awesome product! Wishing you all the best with the launch @pbteja1998
Hi @pbteja1998,
Simplifying the blogging process for marketing teams lowers the boundaries of code. Is Feature compatible with Webflow CMS?
Congratulation on the launch
As someone who blogs and uses Notion for all my editing, I think this is brilliant! The table of contents on the blog site is a cherry on top, very smooth! Looking forward to the product iterations, Bahnu!
Iโve recommended multiple clients of ours to use Feather for their websiteโs blog - itโs truly one of the most simple and effective tools out there. From our experience, itโs actually more SEO-optimized than a Wordpress blog (out of the box)
Our clients love it
this one is an amazing product. I follow Bhanu story on twitter for few years now.
I made product similar to Feather but for Apple Notes users[1].
