"Every day, it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day, that's the hard part". Everyday is a simple and beautiful habit tracker to help you form good habits, visualize your progress and reach your goals. For Web, iOS, macOS, watchOS and Android.

Love this. In the option where you can choose a habit "every day" or certain days, it would be super to see another option X days per week. For me I have a workout goal 6 days per week so this is hard to represent using your app (and therefore puts me off as I would rather use an app to support my goal rather than rework the goal to suit the app). Other than that looks great ,nice work! What's the business model? Why free?
Joan Boixadós
@jasondainter Hi Jason, this is probably the most requested feature in the app! The funny part is that these habits can already be tracked by simply marking when you do and skipping when it doesn't apply. But I realize I need to communicate/design better. I want to add a more explicit solution but it is hard given how the UI works. I'm happy to hear how would you expect it to work, should the app automatically skip the day for you if you haven't completed it by the end of the day? Thanks!
Jason Dainter
@mezood yeah so this is super confusing wording. But basically what I was trying to achieve was to 1. Have a goal of 6 days per week out of 7. Without referring to a specific day of the week (which I need to at the moment). 2. Ensure that my streaks will remain in place. So If I workout 6 days and my day off is Tuesday, it'll still consider that a streak, next week I could take Monday off, and same thing the streak would continue. make sense?
Joan Boixadós
@jasondainter yes, it makes a lot of sense, I just need to sit and think deeply on how to achieve this in a manner it's easy to understand and that doesn't add complexity to the ui :p thanks again for the awesome feedback!
Jason Dainter
The feature list on paid plans seem a bit weird if you ask me. To not add device syncing unless you pay seems bizzare, did I understand right on the free plan data wont sync!? Also to only have access to your data ("all habit history") unless you pay seems a bit off too.
Joan Boixadós
@jasondainter Hi Jason!! Actually your message made me realize that the wording might be confusing! Device synch works on the free tier! Thanks for the feedback on the all history access. My reasoning was that if you had used the app for long enough to want to revisit it, you might consider subscribing then! I'll reconsider! I hope the app helps and thanks for the feedback!
Jason Dainter
@mezood no worries keep up the good work!
Jason Dainter
Love the apple watch complications, and fact you actually have thought to do a few different dynamic versions (eg the one with a little UI going from 0 to X (number of completed habits) is very cool.
Joan Boixadós
@jasondainter ahh thanks Jason! not everyone notices these details!!
Jason Dainter
What does the half coloured box mean (eg on apple watch I saw if you press then press again it will half fill the box). UX/UI needs a bit of work there. Personally would just keep it simple, filled, or not filled, unless there's an obvious need for a half filled box I am missing?
Joan Boixadós
@jasondainter the triangles are the "skips" so you can either "do" "not do" or "couldn't do/did partially" it adds a lot of flexibility and it fits in my ranges of how simple I want the app to be. Basically it's a way to say you didn't complete the habit but you want to keep the streak alive. It's very related to the "6 times a week frequency" thing. That's why you can simply use skips for maximum flexibility. But yes, I need to explain it better!
Jason Dainter
@mezood functionality makes sense now and is helpful to be able to skip on the watch so thats invaluable. UI graphic on the skip probably needs a change. Half filled green doesn't feel like "skip" as it feels half filled in. Maybe grey out or make a dash in the middle or something like that but definately needs a rethink.

Happy New Year! And here's a refreshed — and familiar — way to stay on top of all the new habits you want to tackle in 2023! 🥂
Joan Boixadós
@chrismessina Thanks for the hunt Chris! There are things we do every day, and then, things we do every year haha :P
Joan Boixadós
👋 Hello ProductHunters, and happy new year! Thank you 🙏 @chrismessina for hunting https://everyday.app once more! 🎯 Everyday 3.0 is here to welcome 2023! 🎉 I'm super happy to share the progress I've done on Everyday (by doing a little bit every day ;D) since I first launched it on PH (https://www.producthunt.com/post...) when it got quite some love from you! (Nominated to App of the Year 2018 in the Kitty Awards :D). Back then it encouraged me to quit freelancing and start working on it full time turning it into the indie business I always dreamt about... The app has been featured as Apple's App of The Day a few times and it was Product of the Day on January 1st 2021! (https://www.producthunt.com/prod...) Pheeew.... that's already 2 years ago !_! Soon, it will be 6 years since I started working on it (🤯) as a side-project and what can I say, I have just been doing a little bit every day (;D) for a very long time. I started Everyday as a personal growth challenge to prove myself that I could build a meaningful micro business helping thousands become better versions of themselves. There is still a long way to go and work to be done, but I am very happy to be here on PH welcoming 2023 and appreciating that my efforts have been meaningful to many and that we must look at any changes as new opportunities for growth. Let's keep doing it every day! My current streak of working on everyday is of 🎉 1584 days and my longest streak is 🔥 1845 for doing 💪 30 push-ups before going to sleep (https://app.everyday.app/2/2)! What are you going to do every day on 2023? ✨✨✨PROMO 20% OFF✨✨✨: By signing up through this link https://everyday.app/?promo=PROD... you'll get a 20% discount to start 2023 making sure those New Year Resolutions are still there past January ;) 🔍 About "Every day, it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day, that's the hard part." everyday.app is a simple and beautiful habit tracker available on the 🌐 Web, 📱 iOS and 📱 Android, 💻 macOS and 🥁🥁🥁🥁... ⌚ watchOS! It also comes with web extensions to set it as the default new tab for Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Safari. It helps you form new habits by doing a little bit every day, no matter how little. 🆕 What's new on v3.0? 📱Major revamp of the Board: It might not sound as the flashiest feature but having rewritten the most characteristic UI of the app has massively improved the UX. It really is a delight to navigate the board and visualize your progress and track your habits. Not only it has become much more performant, it has also allowed me to add --> 🎬 Animations/Haptics: Animations/Haptics to reinforce the main concepts of the app, building a streak and colouring the board that represents our personal growth has to be a delight, rewarding by itself. It's all about the UX! Some examples are the perfect day, perfect board and streak animations! They are especially awesome on bigger screens ;D 🎛️ Controlpanel: This is probably a geeky name for an awesome feature. The side controlpanel makes it much easier to experiment with habits and routines, sorting them, changing their schedule, notifications and even colours. Isn't eating an apple in the morning sticking? Let's try to move it to dinner dessert! 🔒 Offline/Privacy: The app now works fully offline and doesn't require an account if you want to make sure only you have access to your data. Your data is always yours. 💻 Infinite history: You can scroll back as much as you want, in case the yearly overview is not enough. This is especially helpful for those who migrate from other apps or who have already started tracking a habit and want to easily input their data! ✨New onboarding: I wanted people to at least learn something good for them from the science of habits during their first interaction. So that even if they never come back to the app again, they'll have still gotten something out of it. Of course the onboarding is a good way to start on the right track! 🖥️ Safari web extension: Web extensions allow you to set Everyday as your browser's default new tab. This was the most impactful feature early on and Safari's extension joins those of Firefox, Chrome and Edge :) aaaaand a ton more of small improvements... Also, remember you can share individual habits, for example look how I am doing with my eating healthier every day challenge for 2022... https://app.everyday.app/2/10 ... pretty good but I should do better! ❓Feedback I wouldn't have gotten here without the feedback you've all been providing me so.. What else would you like to see? Shoot me an email at joan@everyday.app :) 📖 Story In early 2017, I was tired of scratching the same tasks off my daily todolist day after day. It was super frustrating to keep scratching 🏋️‍♂️ “go to the gym” or 🍏 “eat a fruit” no matter how many times I did it. There was no visualization of progress. Before I even thought about working on it, I had doodled the design of what would become the first version of everyday.app. One month later, the first working prototype was ready. After sharing it for free on reddit’s r/GetDisciplined it blew up to the frontpage with more than a thousand signups and over hundred daily users. As someone who had never made $1 for any of his little productivity apps and influenced by the bootstrapping stories on HackerNews I gave it a try. More than 30% of the users back then paid. That really changed my mindset. For months, it was the sideproject I never had enough time to work on. Thankfully, the app itself helped me form the habit to keep working on it every day, even if it was just 10 minutes when work kept me busy. Finally, in October 2018, I took the plunge, quit freelancing and started working full-time on it taking it to where it is now: 🚀 A minimal, beautiful habit tracker that’s both on the web and on mobile helping thousands become better selves by doing a little bit every day! You can read my 2017 IndieHackers interview here for more details: [https://www.indiehackers.com/int... 💰 Biz model The ultimate goal in my business model is to be able to afford offering much more for free so that many more people can enjoy the benefits of habit tracking. As a bootstrapped indie business, I keep pushing into this direction slowly but steady. This has allowed many more users to use the app for free for a long period 😄, which ultimately has led to more people subscribing for the premium features 😊.

👨🏻‍💻 Next steps There is so much room for improvement and so many untapped opportunities that it's hard to keep focused. Fortunately, I know of an app that helps me on that ;D In the last months I've been working on making the app available on more devices and platforms. Product wise, I'll keep focusing on minimalism, simplicity and beauty, to get as many people as possible to enjoy the benefits of tracking their habits without them feeling like it's an extra job. Business-wise, I'm at that point where I realize I need extra hands if I want to accomplish my vision, so if you think you could bring value and help me grow this project, feel free to shoot me an email at joan@everyday.app! I'd particularly like to find: Visual lead: Someone who can take over everything visual about the app. From improving colour scales to branding. Who is not afraid of messing with code. Growth: I have millions of ideas but I can't execute them all. I think the app has a lot of latent potential and my product bias always pushes marketing down the priority list. Help me change that! 🛠 Maker community As someone who enjoys product, code and business in equal proportions I struggled to find my path until I came across the idea of indie makers. It's been a very enriching adventure so far and it's got me to meet a lot of awesome people. I like to feel I contributed to the movement with my awesome-indie github repo (https://github.com/mezod/awesome...) and by organizing the IndieHackers Barcelona Meetup! Keep building every day! 🚀🚀🚀 Feel free to get in touch with me at joan@everyday.app for any feedback! I ❤️ feedback! Joan

Debajit Sarkar
A very inspiring product. The best way to build a new habit is to start small and succeed, rather than start too big and fail. Everyday 3.0 offers a particularly powerful case for achieving that.
Joan Boixadós
@dsarkar That's it Debajit! Small constant change over time!
