Duet 2.0 is hardware accelerated but still completely software. This means the GPU can handle more of the work, saving CPU resources & battery life, while increasing responsiveness.
Hey guys,
We have been working on Duet for several years, expanding it into a suite of products for your iPad & desktop.
We are excited to announce a major update to our core product, Duet Display. We have always been the fastest solution to turn your iPad into a second display, but with macOS 10.14.2, we are now fully hardware accelerated but still completely software. This means the GPU can handle more of the work, saving CPU resources & battery life, while increasing responsiveness.
Check it out today and let me know your thoughts!
P.S. It is a free update for users
@feelnx It is faster with less CPU. Duet operates exactly as a hardware display now but without the hardware, and our algorithms have always been a decent bit more responsive when there is content moving on the screen. Luna has done many sponsored posts so it is hard to find an unbiased side by side (check the links in write ups).
We also don't require a dongle and are considerably cheaper. Can always try ours for only $10 today and see if it works for you (I don't think you'll even notice the latency).
Pretty slick. I'm having one issue. If I drag a window half way onto my iPad, it doesn't show up until the full window is dragged over, but half is still gone from the source monitor. Sometimes I might want the split-window, and it would also be nice to have it "snap" over to the iPad. Am I missing a setting?
I have used it since it was updated, I’m one of the first to have pushased it, it is amazing, it works on iPad and iPad Pro with my MacBook Air and iMac, simply brilliant
