Hi Product Hunters 👋 Sajid from The Create Labs here. I’m excited to announce Drop, a simple way to share files faster and safer. Sharing something is personal and important to the process of creating. With Drop we want to make it seamless for you! You can share files of any format — up to 1GB as often as you want, either with a link or via email. We don’t ask you to provide personal details or sign up. The files are deleted from our servers after 24 hours to ensure full privacy. Drop was an experimental product made by our developers, to make our own workflow easy. We’re excited to share it with the whole community of Product Hunt! 😻 I’ll be here to answer any questions that you might have! 🙂

@sajidanam Congrats on launching your new product on Product Hunt! I agree with @vladcalus though, you need to highlight the differences between WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc. and Drop (if there are any).

Thanks so much @aparkhills! 😄 Drop was made for sharing files within our teams. Now that it's shared with you all and we're receiving such interesting feedback, we might take it a step further and add new features for a next version. 🚀 What more would you like to see in the next versions of Drop?

Thanks for pointing it out, @vladcalus. We made Drop to improve our own workflow and it was being used within the team only. We didn't want to compare it to any other services.🙌 It was benefiting us and we thought to share it with the community. All the feedback received is overwhelming and we are thinking about creating a better version of Drop with more features!

Personally I have no use for such a short embargo time. Sometimes I send someone a link and they are so busy they don’t collect it for three days. Are you planning on monetizing by offering longer storage times on a paid tier?

On your point: Drop was an experimental product, we never thought of a next version. I agree that the time limit should be extendable or customizable! Are there any other features you would like to see in a product like this? We've received such great feedback from the community that we're now thinking of creating more value for you all! 😊

@sajidanam I would like an option for a notification to be sent when the receipient collects the file, so we know if they got it.

It would be nice to be like the wetransfer's page.

Pros:

Simple to use, with a nice interface.

Cons:

I don't like that the landing page is that long.

Hey Vlad, thanks for the review, and you're spot-on!🙏 Initially, Drop was made just for our own use. The design was also made within a day. Now that we've shared it with the community, we'd definitely work on improving the landing page. Are there any other features you'd like to have in this product? Let me know!

Design looks great, i will definitely give it a try. My main worry is that 24 hr is too less like wetransfer if you can provide 1 week or so that will be great(its just a suggestion)
