@ernopp Dislike the superficiality of developers who live to make a fast buck no matter how ridiculous Apple's downwards spiral is...
Jeremy Olson
@androidlove @ernopp As in, taking advantage of the Touch Bar? This was a side project by @cbillins that we realized was turning out really well and we made it into a full on product. The Touch Bar was a nice coincidence. Our hopes for this app are to make enough to keep it up and continue to add features.

@androidlove This is a bizarre comment to see on PH. The Touch Bar is going to be on millions of users laptops in a year from now, the product linked above is a cool use of it and features like the Touch Bar really explode when developers make use of them. What exactly is superficial about any of that?
Christain Billings
@androidlove I was almost finished with the app when Apple announced the Touch Bar. They made it so easy to implement into the app, why wouldn't I?

@jerols @cbillins happy to see my fellow Charlotte creatives putting us on the map

I love this statement "May be your excuse to buy that fancy new Mac." 😍

Where can I download because the site does not work?
Ben Guild
@jerols The MAS link is missing the colon on the protocol! Can you fix it? 😱
Jeremy Olson
@benguild Sorry about that. It looks like Product Hunt doesn't like direct MAS links. I've changed to the iTunes web link and it works.
Ben Guild
@jerols Word. I like the way the app looks but I wish I could try before I buy. Also, not sure if I'd pay $3.99 when Coleurs is free. :\ ... https://couleursapp.com/
Jeremy Olson
@benguild I just posted a video showing the major features in case that helps.
Mohammed Erraysy
I've been waiting for something like this, Thank you very much.
Christain Billings
@merraysy no, thank you :D

I love using Drop. Clean, simple and fast. Great work Jeremy.
Jeremy Olson
@joshdance Thanks!

Just wondering if this will be integrated with the Mac OS default color picker?
Jeremy Olson
@bmoondesigner we don't have plans for that yet. I would like to better understand the value of that feature for you. Would it be to have the color palette from Drop synced with that of the default color picker?
Brian Moon
@jerols just curious :) some Mac applications have the default Mac color picker which doesn't have a Hex code input. I use this plugin to add another tab for that functionality. https://www.macupdate.com/app/ma...

App Store is link not working
Jeremy Olson
@inna_okun fixed, thanks!
Gleb Dvoryatkin
Very nice product!
Jeremy Olson
@gleb_dvoryatkin Thanks Gleb! @cbillins deserves the credit. This was his little side project — he designed it, learned Swift in order to build it, and did most of the marketing stuff too. I just helped on some of the nerdy stuff... and I'll take credit for the zooming loupe :)
Christain Billings
@gleb_dvoryatkin Thank you so much!

I use Color Snapper and I like it. Any reason to switch to Drop?
Patrick
@coffeeandjunk infinitive zoom? Touch bar support ;D I don´t know, looks great. Currently I use Sip https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Abhishek Chakraborty
@justawebguy Hmm...haven't tried Sip, but I'll give it a try. I use Lingo to collect colours. I see Sip does that already. Neat!
Jeremy Olson
@coffeeandjunk I just posted a video of Drop in action so you can see the major features.
Giancarlo Gomez
Nice! Love it!

Moarrr for the Touch Bar!
Patrick Thompson
Does the app have a menubar icon? Does it have quick access to copied colors? Does it have the ability to save color palettes? I currently use Sip (https://www.producthunt.com/post...) and they make it very easy to do all of the things I just mentioned and more. Is Drop just accessed/used in an app form as the first window on your website hints at?
Christain Billings
@neurohacked these are all features that are coming :) I started this app with the intention of learning while keeping it simple.
David Feng
Love the website. Beautiful. Will definitely give this a shot! @jerols
Antonis Tsagaris
Nice! Looks really lovely. However, I don't get the "convenience" of having the colors on the touch bar. Why not just click and select them on the screen instead of taking your eyes off it, looking down to the keyboard, searching again for the color you selected and then tapping it? Doesn't make any sense to me, just seems like a feature that's there just because. I guess it's the Apple Effect. :p
Jeremy Olson
@antonis_tsagari when you are coding, you are using the keyboard. This gives quick access to copying common colors for your app or website design into your code as you are typing. No need to reach for the mouse.

What are your thoughts? @kedar_apte
David James
cool!

Is it available on Mac store worldwide ?
