Hey Product Hunt!
I’m Julian — and I built Doodlify.io after spotting an X post asking for a way to turn real photos into fun, cartoon-style illustrations. Thanks Ed! A few hours later, the first version was live.
🎨 Doodlify transforms your images — pets, people, products, cities — into bold, 2D cartoon-style doodles in seconds.
📸 Just upload a photo → get a playful, clean illustration.
🐾 Great for avatars, gifts, social posts, or just-for-fun projects.
🚀 No setup, no learning curve — it just works.
It’s powered by image-to-image AI and designed to be fast, fun, and super accessible. While I initially wanted to do it with the 4o API, it's not yet available so it's a mix of Stability AI and Google's ImageGen under the hood.
I’m building and documenting the journey over on X — would love your thoughts, feedback, or wild feature requests!

This style is pretty cool! I think it's a good option for getting a fast and unique illustration for people who don't want to use the more complex tools for image generation such as Stable diffusion or so. Simple and easy!
Doodlify.io is such a fun idea, and it's awesome how quickly you brought it to life. Turning real photos into cartoons adds a playful twist that's perfect for socials or gifts.
Guys, I really like what's coming out! In a single consistent style, I already want to try to make a comic book from a series of illustrations or a series of meme motivational images )))
This is really fun, thank you for creating it! I felt like I was missing out on all the Studio G fun, but now I can make my doggo into a doodle. Thanks Julian!
I love how Doodlify turns everyday images into fun, personalized illustrations so effortlessly—what a cool way to add some personality to social media or gifts! Are there plans to offer different cartoon styles or customization options for the illustrations in the future?
Thank you so much, means a lot. No, it'll just remain the signature 2D doodle/flat vector style. There's a lot of apps that focus on Studio G, and other styles, but doodlify will stay true to it's core - doodles :D
Congrats on the launch! Do you see people using this mostly for fun, or are there emerging use cases like branding or product marketing that are surprising you?

@felixgerlach Thank you Felix! This means a lot and that was the exact idea, a little bit of color and fun.

@priyantha_adikari Thank you! I can't wait to see! Send pics!
Loving the fun results, and it's such a throwback to the Web3 and NFT era - just without all the scams. Thank you for sharing!
@pathum_kankanamalage Thank you! What a throwback indeed. This is also what the tweet that started this all said!

Mostly for fun, I’d say it’s an 60/40 split between selfies and pets. I’ve seen a profile pic in the wild, it was a super validating feeling!
Fun tool for unique social media visuals! 😄
let the 4o image gen wrapper battle begin
@maxcomx hahaha, can’t compete with DreamChanted and the tech he’s running. This one’s on stability with a wall back to 4o.
Once the API drops though…. It’ll be a battlefield out here 🤣
