Dinners App answers the question "What's for dinner?" You & your family vote on recipes. When everyone likes a recipe, it’s a match! Think Tinder, but for your recipes. And more delicious.
Hey hunters! 👋
Marriage is basically one of you asking the other "what's for dinner?" until one of you is dead.
Food allergy? Picky eater? Kids? Picking dinner recipes is a minefield.
So my wife and I created Dinners. It's match-making for recipes.
@theo_goodman hey, cool idea, congratulations!! Best of luck!!🍀 It will be convenient to mention the products you have in the fridge and find recipes that include them
@beefriedman Thanks for your support! Android isn't coming anytime soon I'm afraid. I learned how to code to build this. I have an iPhone, so I learned Swift. But I'm only one person working on this. And I don't have the time to learn Android.
@ddd_fff Thank you for the kind words and support! I hope you'll give the app and try. We put a lot of thought into accommodating food allergies and preferences. You can easily filter according to your tastes.
This is truly the story of every other family; the concept of voting on recipes until there's a match is clever and engaging. It adds an element of excitement to meal planning. Congratulations on creating such a brilliant and useful app.
Do you plan to add grocery lists to streamline the cooking and shopping process after selecting a recipe?
@falak_sher Definitely feels like a game-changer in our family! Thank you for your support. And YES we do plan to do grocery-listing in the app. We envision being able to tap a button to spit out a list of all groceries from the list of matched recipes.
Very cool idea. I like it ! I’d say there would be a lot of swiping before the match is found in my family though lol. Congrats and best of luck with the launch and beyond:-)
Congrats on the launch! Dinners app sounds interesting. Does it also give the option to individuals to input any particulars like allergies, eating preferences, etc?
Congrats on launch Dinners! The app's concept of matching recipes based on family votes is fantastic. It's going to make choosing meals so much easier and enjoyable.
@chandula@busmark_w_nika Half Lemons is an app specifically for that! But we also support that in Dinners. You can filter for recipes with a key ingredient. Bye bye food waste!
I can't wait to have a "things are complicated" as my relationship status after having a "one night meal" with my dinners.
Jokes aside, this is a fun way to figure something out for dinner, because it's so dang hard.
Awesome product @theo_goodman and team!
Hey Theo,
First of all congratulations on your launch!
I love the the idea and the product.
Everything worked pretty well, we tried with the team, the app just sometimes had some difficulties to load the image of the dinner (took more than 10 seconds).
But I really like it, quite nice that you can have a look at the recipe before swapping.
How many recipes are available on the application at the moment?
@arthur_leclercq Thanks for your support! Glad to hear you like it. I know your feedback is genuine because the bug you noticed is at the top of my list to fix 😅 The app has several thousands recipes in its database, and counting!
@theo_goodman with pleasure! hahaha happy to know that you are already working on it!
Good news! several thousands should be enough to find at least one meal that will make a family happy haha
I'm always scrolling Instagram to find new recipes. This is super helpful!! You don't know what's out there until it magically appears in your feed one day, and you've never been happier.
@cole_at_pieces Couldn't agree more. Never get tired of looking at food porn and discovering great, new recipes from it! Hope you have a chance to download Dinners and try it out.
Congratulations on the launch! It's quite a good app. I am not good at cooking actually. I often search for recipes and follow them step by step. It takes a lot of time to find and it is easy to lose them after a period. This app can provide me with various recipes conveniently.
In addition, everyone's voting will also make dinner expectable, because there are dishes that everyone likes.
Love it!
That's such a cool idea! Especially for people like me who never know what to eat 🤣 Are there also filter for like "healthy food", "High Protein" and stuff like that? I guess that would be a cool feature! Good luck with your launch btw 💯
Hey @theo_goodman - congrats on the launch
Loved how I was immediately thrown some recipes to start swiping as soon as I opened the app for the first time.
Quick comment you might find useful - when i tried to "start a collaboration" aka invite a friend, an error message popped up saying I couldn't invite anyone.
Looking forward to future dinners!
@williamfu Thank for your support William! And doubly so for the feedback - painful tho it is for me to hear it. If your iCloud account is active, and you're the creator of your household, you should absolutely be able to invite people. The app depends on it.
Congrats on the launch of Dinners, Theo - Love the tagline! This is such a helpful tool for anyone struggling with meal planning, especially with food allergies and picky eaters. It can make deciding what's for dinner so much easier. Looking forward to trying it out!
Quick question: Does Dinners allow you to save favorite recipes for easy access later?
@adamyork Thank you for your support Adam! And YES you can save recipes in Dinners for easy access later. I hope you'll give it a try, and give me a shout personally if you have any requests or feedback of any kind!
